First, I must introduce myself: My IGN is Meisduhbest, and I am part of the guild Lockdown Loons. I have really been interested in guild matches lately, so I came up with the idea of a tournament to decide who is the best! The rules are as follows:

The set times of the tournament are undecided yet depending on the amount of contestants entering.

The entree fee for the tournament will be 5 enamorocks for each contestant (not each guild) to prove your worthiness. Each guild can have up to 2 teams.

~~Without further ado, the rules~~

1) The tournament will be a double elimination for each guild (this means if you gave 2 teams entered, then each may only lose once. If 1 is entered, that team may lose twice before elimination).
2) Any weapons, trinkets, and auto-aim is allowed (I dont wanna hear from you auto-aim trolls).
3) Each team will play through the bracket until a winning guild is decided.

~~Prizes~~

Each contestant of the winning team will receive 2,500 crowns and the title of the champion of the 1st Annual Meisduhbest Tournament!

*There will be no refunds after the entree fees are recieved*

To enter the tournament please leave the following info:

Guild name
Name of the "team captain" that I will talk to about team formation
Number of teams entering (2 max)
Skill of your guild in lockdown on a scale of 1-10

Constructive help and criticism is accepted and feel free to let me know if interested. If there is something I left out, let me know. Hope this is a hit!

An entry fee of 5 enamorocks

An entry fee of 5 enamorocks per contestant? No thanks.

You shouldn't profiting on this, only the winning team should.

Translation:

"I, the OP could use money and/or heart trinkets. I'm holding a tournament which is basically brings us 30 enamourocks per guild team entered. The winner will gain approximately 1/30th of their entry fee back as a prize."

The winner should gain ALL the enamourocks from all the guild teams put together, perhaps -10 so you get compensated for your time, but no more.
By now I'd hesitate even if you change the conditions of your tournament, given the attitude it's posted in. I'd wonder if the winner'd receive anything at all.

I said constructive...

@Tom-Awsm: First of all, I asked for constructive criticism, not spazzing on the worthlessness of the idea. Secondly, the host is to profit somewhat on the tournament for actually taking the time to host it. And yes, after posting, I realized that that was a little less than a good prize, but it can be easily fixed. Say....if each winning team got 10 enamorocks back, which means they doubled their profits. And dont forget, having fun (and bragging rights) is part of the prize too!

@Silphius: This is BY NO MEANS hosted by my guild, so if you don't like the idea, dont go hating on them. I just provided some background info. And like I said earlier, after posting the prizes, I was like :O because I too realized they weren't very promising. And like I said, they can be fixed.10 enamorocks per winning contestant! Keep commenting if your guild is interested!

Tournaments like these

Tournaments like these usually don't have an entry fee at all. Almost every raffle, tournament or competition I've seen (and I've seen lots) arealways hosted by rich people, that give away items to winners. They don't demand anything for an entry, yet they give away over 100,000 crowns worth of items or energy. I actually have never seen something like this on Spiral Knights.

"Secondly, the host is to profit somewhat on the tournament for actually taking the time to host it"

I feel that's a sly excuse to try and make money out of it. It takes little effort to host one, and you would only make a tournament if you actually wanted to make one, it's not a job.

I'd say our comments were

I'd say our comments were pretty constructive if they made you realize the crappiness of your prizes >.>

Don't get all defensive just because someone disagrees with you.

As a fellow member of

As a fellow member of Lockdown Loons I would like to reiterate and reinforce the FACT that this proposal is entirely the creation of Meisduhbest and AFAIK has no endorsement by any ranking members of Lockdown Loons. To my knowledge there has been no consensus or even discussion on this topic amongst the ranks of our guild. At this point in time Lockdown Loons is not affiliated in whole or in part imagined or otherwise with this proposal.

Thank you for your time.

Alrighty, I edited the post

Alrighty, I edited the post where I stated my assumptions of this being a guild event so there's no further misconception.

I won't change the caustic nature of that post though, since I said "The winner should gain ALL the enamourocks". The prize should be dynamic on the number of contestants, not your compensation. That should remain static.

Instead you have it the other way around; your "compensation" (and I use that term loosely , since "profit" is more accurate) increases with the number of contestants. With just 5 guilds entering, each just one team per guild, they'll give 150 rocks. If you double the winner's entry fee, you'll gain 90 rocks yourself. 10 guilds enter? 240 rocks profit. I'm not even touching the subject of several teams from a single guild entering.

Then offer some help

Well if everyone is against the prizes, then offer a fix. Don't just sit here telling me its stupid, try to give some ideas on how to make it better.

@Debianlinux: There was some talk within the guild about this, not much, but we talked a bit. But that doesn't make this a guild idea.
