So i have these two shield, Aegis and the Crest of Almire. I understand that this shadow lair requires piercing and shadow protection. So which shield should I take?
About to go to the Snarbolax Shadow Lair...

practice dodging wolvers
I did that Shadow Lair with Barbarous Thorn Shield, which is nice because of the sword damage bonus. But you might be right that a shadow shield is more useful than a piercing shield in general. There are a lot of undead, including howlitzers. Alpha wolvers will break a piercing shield anyway. So make sure you're good at dodging them.

Chose piercing over shadow
I went through shadow lair snarbolax some days ago and i brought a Dread skelly shield with UV high piercing. I made it for one purpose, to bring it there. I thought shadow was going to be more of a trouble than piercing (and that poison on shield was of importance). I was wrong, howlitzer bullets were easy to dodge and even a piercing shield would have time to get full hp between zombie swipes. I did find it annoying that my shield only held for 1/3 wolver bites. I guess a piercing shield would hold for at least 2/3 bites and still take 1 swipe from zombies. And at the boss stage all you do is shielding. i missed having a piercing shield there.
imo you should take Aegis rather than crest.
Shadow would probably help you more. You tend to face more problems with howlitzer, spook kat and zombie spam than anything else (aside from the Snarbolaxes but you don't face them quite as much as the masses of undead).
Unless you think you'll have more trouble dodging wolver bites than shadow projectiles.
