I have heard literally NOTHING about any update to the game having an effect on cutters....
Do you have any particular reason to believe this, kyoushu?

Well, he could be referring to the closed beta patches. The heavy sword series used to be really crap and the cutter series extremely overpowered. Basically the cutter's charged attack will stun most monsters and practically kill most monsters in 1 go. Now it doesn't stun anything so you have to be smart about when you use it. Though, I still think its current state is pretty balanced, maybe a little bit weaker than the other swords even with its speed.

Personally its a bit weak, the damage output is much less since you dont get the second hit unless you have your enemy cornered which doesnt happen often since you need to constantly keep up your defense and moving on the higher tiers

Cutter is one sword that
Cutter is one sword that benefits greatly from disabling auto-targeting imho because you want to use those very fast thrusts to dodge some attacks (thus retaining your mobility) due to not getting a recovery animation until the 5th attack (unlike the other swords that get it at the 2nd or 3rd).

Kyajin - It's actually not
Kyajin - It's actually not that hard. Knowing the timing of monsters' attacks is quite helpful, as well as popping your shield when you're close to shove 'em back. I have directed groups of monsters into corners and wailed on 'em like mad this way. It's kind of annoying sometimes but it's handy. With the knockback and popping of your shield, crowd control is actually quite easy.
I never use the charge, though. You're too vulnerable and it only ends in tragedy for me. :(

I'm not saying its hard, I'm saying its comparably weak to the other swords because landing the second hit is a bit inconsistent.
From what I've gathered it takes about 2 slashes plus their second hits from a cutter line to deal just above the damage of one attack of an equal star calibur line. Landing large combos is where the cutter line shines but the opportunity for this is rare enough that the other swords seem to be a bit more effective.
That said, I'm committed to my cutter line weapon and have tons of fun using it
They got nerfed? When? I hadn't noticed, my Striker is still working just fine for me.
