Can any1 list a good gun against construct and slime?I m a sworduser bt i only use gun against construct and slime, sword for other mobs.
Good gun?
Pulsar is a great counter-part for a swordsman. Pulsar excels at mid to long range, while swords excel at well... close range. There is a small gap that is not quite swing range, yet not quite pulsar range, but it is easily dealt with (i.e. moving). The knockback can keep lumbers away, who can be a real problem for swordsmen when they are walking in groups.
As for slimes... I, as a 70% gunslinger, use a combination of the Shadowtech Alchemer Series and a Nightblade. I launch 2 or 3 Shadowtech shots to soften them up, then use a quick Nightblade combo to kill them. I heard Biohazard works well, and I have seen it decimate slimes, yet I have never used it personally, so IDK what to expect.
Even then, the Pulsar line (ideally the line that does elemental damage) can do decent damage to slimes and good damage to constructs.
Since jellies aren't that hard to deal with close up, and you want to avoid those giant lumber swings/ avoid getting point blank shot by a gun puppy, consider an elemental alchemer. Can inflict either fire, freeze, or shock (depending what you choose), has a powerfull charge attack, has a ricochet that can allow you to hit enemies more than once, and works on both construct and slime. (does more damage on construct) Also goes great with a sword (I have a brandish line + alchemer setup, works very well, good for both parties and solo)
I use've used an Alchemer, and I really think that the pulsar outshines it. Pulsar, elemental line at least, does inflict Shock, so that is a plus. Once you get used to the range where the bullets expand, it does FAR more AOE, crowd control type damage, in addition to massive knockback. The main downside is just how blinding it can be. Not a problem for the guy wielding the Pulsar, because he can just keep spreading the area with massive aoe shots, but anyone who wants to say... run in with a sword, will be short a few pips of health by the end of the combat.
I really hate the 2 shot nature of the Alchemers. I feel like they dont cover as much area as the Pulsar line. With Pulsars, you can be pretty aggressive, and charge forward, knocking back any enemies that dare oppose you. With the Alchemers, you have little knockback, and have to rely on backpedaling and kiting a lot more. The ricochets seem nice, but they are really luck based and not really reliable (unless you using the ones with a high number of stars or you are using only charge shots)
polaris. good gun as a swordie side arm (good at killing turrets)
