I'm just thinking of having a new weapon type for the increase in variety as well as more expansive gameplay
These are a few examples:
>Dynamite/Mortar/Grenade
Throw it and an explosion appears in a distance
>Knucke Duster
Super-close combat, super high damage
>Mines/Charge Packs
Extension to bombs
>Pets?
Extra minor damages (Can die in 30 days since birth, or an equipment which can die and needs energy to revive)
>Shock/Freeze/Fire Tower
Plants a becon with a super high charge time but can randomly zap monsters into a status effect

Maybe add a special ability to a character wearing a full set of equipments.
Example: Vog Cub Set's ability can have alpha wolver's biting ability that has super high damage but can only be used once each depth.
This would make the game yield more variety, afterall, this is just a suggestion so I don't mind if this idea is added on or whether it ends up in the "Graveyard" section (I hope not).
people have agreed that pets would harm combat, by unbalancing it by being too strong or pointleesly weak. theese other items you are talking about may also be heading the same way, though the idea of a super strength item might be ideal. see "overload battery" on the search bar. this time it would not be unbalanced as its limited.
