Well, my last fanfiction (The Monster Trio) sorta died. Well, now I am prepared to make a better a better, and hopefully more sucessful fanfic.

So here we are, our main character, a little Gremlin orphan and his amazing journey and whatnot. Well, here is a little background info-

Argyo-
Race: Gremlin
a. dark red fur
b. green eyes
c. average size

Argyo was very young when his parents were killed in an accident in the Ironclaw Munitions Factory. Then, he was shipped of to a tiny orphanage deep in the Great Colony. He loves to tinker with machinery, like all Gremlins, but seems to be able to put whatever he dismantles back together again, unlike most Gremlins who leave a pile of bent gears and cogs. He once nearly blew up the orphanage when he was absentmindedly messing around in the boiler room. He is usually shunned by others. No one really cares much about him. His whole life is about to change very quickly and very soon though.....

Chapter 1: The Mysterious Device

Argyo lay asleep on a broken wooden crate in an alley off of a small street. His home, the orphanage, lay just across the street. He had lived there almost his whole life, since his parents were killed in a freak rocket accident not long after he was born. Though, what could one expect? They worked in the Ironclaw Munitions Factory. With rockets flying in all directions, it was almost inevitable. Freak accidents like that weren't so freakish under those conditions.

Argyo woke with a jolt as a metal object hit him in the stomach.
"Ouch! Huh? What was that? Oh, just a part of some machine that must have fallen from a higher depth."
He lay back down to continue sleeping, but before he closedhis eyes, he noticed something peculiar about the machine part. It had words engraved in it in a strange language. Argyo looked over it.

"Definitly not Gremlin. Doesn't look like Knight either. What is this?"
He picked it up and scrambled back to the orphanage. He arrived in his small, dusty room. Pulling the object out from his tattered coat, Argyo hid it with the rest of his few possesions. He would examine the strange device later. He was going to find his friend first and tell him of his dicovery.

As he walked away, the object began to shudder and glow....

Chapter 2: The Orb

Sun was a rather strange Gremlin. She was a bit undersized, and she had unusually bright orange fur. She was pacing around her room absentmindedly when she heard a knock. She opened her door and Argyo stood waiting.

"Can I come in Sun?
"Yea. What is it?"
Argyo crept in and closed the door. He began explaining in a hushed voice about the mysterious object and the strange writing.
"So, I was sleeping, and this mechanical part seemingly fell out of nowhere. It was odd looking and had some strange writing on it in a language I have never seen."
"Strange. Do you have it?"
"No, I left it in my room for safe keeping. Follow me and we can go look at it."

They walked into Argyo's room to find the object vibrating vigorously and glowing brightly. it now also emmited a low hum.
"Whoa!! It wasn't doing that when I left!!"
A glowing yellow line appeared in the center of the side of the cube-shaped object, and began to spread in a strange pattern around the cube.
The device split in half, each side cut in a zig-zag.

A small ball lay inside. it was made of a bluish-green metal neither Sun nor Argyo had ever seen.
"W-what is t-that?" stuttered Sun.
"I d-don't k-know...." responded Argyo.
He picked it up. It was slightly warm to the touch and it seemed to radiate small pulses of energy every few second, almost like a tiny heartbeat.

"Here. Feel it." said Argyo, passing it to Sun.
He looked over to the split box, and noticed something rather alarming.

The strange writing was glowing green, and had arranged itself into Gremlin writing. It said-

The Eye of Mirg......

Chapter 3: Leaving Home

"Eye.... of..... Mirg? Who the heck is ..... Mirg?!"
"Argyo, what are you blathering about? Mirg? What is that?!"
"Come see the lettering on the box! It changed! It says: Eye Of Mirg!"
"So.... this weird blue ball is some guy named Mirg's eye? Ewww."
"I don't think it is a real eye, seeing as it is metal, but I do think there is something or someone out there named Mirg."

Argyo paused for a moment, deep in thought.....

"We have to leave the Great Colony."
"WHAAAT?!?!"
"We have to go and find Mirg and find out what this thing is and why it chose us!"
"What do you mean, chose us?"
"Do you think a freaky magic artifact falling out of the sky onto me is complete coincidence?! Just think about it.... we could leave the orphanage, and be free, never confined to this filthy crowded place again!"
"Freedom comes at a price! We would be outlaws!!"
"Fine.... if you insist that much....... I'll leave without you. Goodbye...."

Argyo began to stroll off....

"Wait! I can't let you go into the Clockworks all alone! I'm coming too!"
"Good. We have to take food, water, and our most prized possesions.
"Okay. I'm going to get my stuff."
"Me too".

Argyo returned with a dusty old satchel containing the Eye of Mirg, some Wolver jerky, Slime candy, along with a bunch of light crystal to find their way in the dark. It also contained his father's Ironclaw symbol badge. He kept it as a reminder of his parents. He wore an old, worn jacket with a hood. He put on his eye-cover goggles, and walked out to meet Sun.

She wore an old mender's coat with the hood torn off. She had backback that was also packed with food and water, along with her prized possesion:
Her mothers pendant. It was a silver chain with a green crystal on the end. the crystal glowed slightly and was very intracately cut, with many different facets.

They were ready. Now they had to escape unnoticed.

Chapter 4: Night Walkers

It was almost pitch black. Argyo and Sun had waited until nightfall on the surface, so any weak beams of light were now gone, and the lights in the Colony had shut down as well. Now was the time to escape.
"Ready?"
"Yeah. Let's go now!"
"Alright, here's the plan. We go around past that street, through the narrow alleys between those tall buildings, through the industrial sector, and out the southwest gate."
"Okay... but we might have to pass some Ironclaw guards, don't you think?"
"Yeah, but we are faster than them. We can outrun any trouble."

They crept across the street and into a drainage pipe. After crawling through the dark, cramped, smelly pipe, they emeged in an alley. Moving further along, they walked into an open area, which they quickly bypassed. They could here machinery rumbling and Gremlins talikng in low, raspy voices. They were nearing the industrial sector. They walked up and immediatly saw a nightguard. Argyo looked at Sun. She nodded.

They flung themselves out of hiding and tackled the guards, then knocked him unconscious. They dragged the stunned Gremlin into the shadows and continued on...

They were nearing a road that led to the southwest gate. Almost there. Then they heard a lound voice.
"Hey! What do YOU two think you are doing?!"
"Uhh...err.... taking a..... um ..... stroll."
"Hmm.... taking a stroll... in the middle of the night..... in the industrial sector.... sounds a bit fishy to me."
They looked at each other for a split second.

And ran.

Right into the passing Crimson Order officer.
