so i recently bought some explorers packs and got enough ce to do a shadow lair run. I then crafted a snarby coat (couldnt afford snarby cap). I want to know which of these combinations is the best for FSC and for the different shadow lairs.
FSC loadout
-vog cub set
-barbarous thorn shield
-2 elite slash modules
-divine avenger
-BTB
-argent peacemaker/polaris
-freezing atomizer/leviathan blade
gear i used for the gloaming woods (shadow lair)
-vog cub set
-barbarous thorn shield
-2 elite slash modules
-divine avenger
-BTB
-polaris
-freezing atomizer
I tried out my vog cub cap and my snarby coat in an fsc run and it seemed to be a good combination. i only have a uv on my divine avenger (asi increased low). i am a swordie mainly and i could probably do another shadow lair run for the snarby cap. leave what combinations you use.
These questions all get asked a lot. Search the forums for stuff like "FSC vog snarb skolver" and "shadow lair". Also, you don't really have many combinations to pick from. How many weapon slots do you use?
For FSC, you want normal, shadow, and fire protection. And some elemental? Both Vog Cub and Snarbolax seem good, but I find that the shadow damage is easier to dodge than the fire, so I prefer Vog Cub over Snarbolax for FSC (with Crest of Almire). A mixed Vog Cub/Snarbolax set would probably be fine. Definitely take your DA. The rest of your weapon choices depend on what your party has. Shivermist Buster is great, but I'm not sure whether the 4-star version is big enough for Phase 5 of Vanaduke. AP is okay against Vanaduke and the undead. Polaris is better against the undead, but worse against Vanaduke.
For Rabid Snarbolax, you want normal, piercing, shadow, and poison protection. So Radiant Silvermail, Fallen/Valkyrie, Dread Skelly, and Skolver are popular. And Snarbolax armor itself. There's almost no elemental damage in there, so Vog Cub is not great. If you go back, then wear your Snarbolax and BTS. I strongly recommend DA, BTB/FF, and Shivermist Buster.
For Ice Queen, you want normal, piercing, and freeze protection. So Skolver with Barbarous Thorn Shield is the obvious armor. A shadow sword (Acheron or Gran Faust) is the ideal weapon; your DA will have to do. Polaris is really useful for taking out certain polyps and lumbers in there. If you charge Levi against the regular RJP, then consider charging it against the Ice Queen.
I haven't done the Shadow IMF or Shadow FSC, so I'll let others comment. The good news is that your Vog Cub armor will suddenly be relevant again.
My overall advice: Maybe you should plan on getting a Skolver Cap, and then maybe a Skolver Coat. Also a shadow sword. And upgrade that Shivermist Buster.
