Basically, a room in the ATH with stuffed, scarecrow-like reproductions of monsters from the clockworks. Just need one sample from each family, preferably in 3 different versions such that the damage inflicted to them by attacks is roughly in line with what you'd see in average T1, T2, and T3 depths. It'd also be nice to have a scarecrow version of vana, seeing as he's not a part of any monster class.

It's been suggested before in various forms, but I figured I'd put my version here.

Bosses should not have a "scarecrow"

I like the idea of there being a scarecrow/puppet of the different monsters (except for the rare ones like impostocube, sloom, etc). However you must remember that in the ATH you have a very limited amount of HP. A hit from a T3 scaled monster would most likely kill you.

Also, bosses like Vana should not be included as they are bosses and should only be seen, fought, and experienced by players who can make it to their respective lairs. Or else you'll lose a lot of the fun. I mean I would not have enjoyed my first vana run if I had already seen or "dealt" with him already in the ATH. I would not have had the rush of fighting this massive beast for the first time.

They wouldn't attack you,

They wouldn't attack you, they'd just sorta stand there mounted to a stake. I mean, they are stuffed reproductions and all.

They might fall over when you've done enough damage to "kill" them, and then after a few seconds pop back up again and reset. That would be pretty much all the interaction they'd provide. The general idea is that they're to help players understand how effective/ineffective certain weapons are at dealing damage to certain monsters.

Like, there was a while when I was starting out when I thought wolvers were practically indestructible because all I had was an elemental sword. Then I got a pierce one and it was like "oh, that's much easier".

Yes, something similar has been suggested before but nevertheless I think it's good idea. Maybe not Vanaduke, but damage resistance/vulnerability is one of the core concept of this game after all - such scarecrows or training dummies seems like a good way to learn new players about damages/monster families.

He's not fiend? I mean ideally, he'd have to be undead, but that's obviously not the case. It seems like he's weak to piercing according to the damage numbers. Is that a bug?

@Sylvanius No, he's just

@Sylvanius No, he's just weird. Slightly weak to piercing in 1,3,5, but not resistant to shadow or elemental until phase 5 at which point he apparently becomes completely immune to shadow. In the mask phases he's apparently slightly resistant to everything but normal.

No damage vs [monster class] weapon buff has been shown to have any effect on him.

Vana isnt part of any kind of

Vana isnt part of any kind of monster class. He is weak to piercing but in his mask form hes strong against everything. Its supossed to be undead tho but due to his unique strenghts and weaknesses he deserves his own scarecrow.
