when the party leader will not step on the party button

I was in a clockwork where one of the guys unlocked a "hard" section (marked by a red skull). Three of us went in and stepped on the party button. The fourth one wasn't in the mood for a hard section, so he didn't join us. We waited several minutes, hoping he would get bored and leave, but instead after a few minutes I got a loading screen and found myself all alone surrounded by a swarm of enemies without the rest of my party.

I'm not really sure what happened to cause this situation, but it was fatal. I don't know if I was kicked from the party or if he quit and we got shattered, but that's not the proper way for the game to handle the situation.

When the party leader will not play along with the rest of the party, there needs to be a way for the rest of the folks to continue enjoying the game without the rebel.

Also, there needs to be a way to let the rest of the party continue on without you at a rest stop (level 4, level 8, and I'm sure there are more). I'd like to be able to take the time to browse the vendors without wasting the time of my party mates.

Sounds like he kicked you.

Sounds like he kicked you. The only way to leave a party OF YOUR OWN ACCORD forces you to return to town, and right now there is absolutely NO way to deal with an uncooperative, inconsiderate, or even disconnected party leader (in the case of D/C it takes a VERY long time before the game will actually remove the person from the party automatically and let the rest of you continue)

Hopefully fixing this will be one the development team's highest priorities. I'd like to see it made so that in the event of EITHER being kicked OR choosing to leave a party yourself, a box would come up warning you of what's going on and giving you a few options. You could decide to remain on that dungeon by yourself (and then be asked your preference on allowing others to join you without invite), you could choose to automatically look for a different group that's in the same dungeon floor, OR you could choose to return to town.

Just teleport the offending

Just teleport the offending to the party button if there status is set to /afk or they became disconnected and have the disconnection icon above them, after a 1 minute period. They still disconnect after the regular amount of time has passed to trigger the disconnection routine.

The party leader has the

The party leader has the ability to kick members from the party as he sees fit though if its the leader doing the no nos then there is little you can do. I suggest adding a kick choice to all players in the party but unlike the leader who can kick whom ever he/she wants when ever they want the member(s) who decide a certain player should be kicked sets out a kick vote a box will pop up in the lower part of the screen giving the players name (and perhaps reason for the kick request) and a simple Yes(F5) No(F6) choice can be selected and three players must agree to the vote in order for said player to be kicked. make sense?

But ironically this is the one instance it can't solve. However, in this case, I suggest that an extra option be added where if you remove yourself from a party, a person that was in the same instance as you can join your party, for no extra energy, if they do so within about a minute. This prevents an exploit of people running say a danger room again and again by chain joining since there's no way they can finish a round within a minute and the system no longer allows you to join a party again and again in the same depth.

I don't support kick voting because it can be toyed with by any majority. Same as you guys basically said "come on, we're not moving." Someone can block a leader from getting rid of them and making progress by saying no to kicking. You guys had no malicious intent, but you still wouldn't let the leader move on without going in. So s/he had no choice but to kick you.

Also for future reference, don't stand on the party button while waiting on someone to come like that since a kick could happen and you'd be all alone again and forced into the danger room.
