so I've been playing this game for about 2 months, i have 2 star weps, shield, etc... but i dunno how to get to tier 2 and get to the jelly king, help me!!!

gate map
Check the gate map when you're standing on the elevator in the arcade--click the button for tier 2 and scroll down to the second half of the tier to see if the JK is in that gate. Each boss is only available in one gate at a time. Tier 2 starts after Moorcroft Manor, which you should be able to get into with your gear, just talk to the guard standing next to the entrance.

On the gate map you will see
On the gate map you will see three levels that are all pink and only have one option. Thats the Royal Jelly Palace. When you are in the clockworks you can also see the gate map from the main menu, click on the clock wheel thing in the upper left corner.

I believe that you have to
I believe that you have to talk to the knight guarding T2 at the end of a T1 run after you have all your equipment for T2. You should then get a in-game e-mail that congratulates you and gives you a free mist tank (accept it so you can use it). From then on, you should be able to choose T2 on the gate maps before entering the clockworks. As others said, check the maps for the royal jelly lair.
As a note, currently there are 4 open gates and each open gate has a different boss. (1xT1, 2xT2, 1xT3)

Gate
Currently, the gate the JK is at looks like a Black Knight from a game of Chess, on a yellowish background (Not Monty Python Black Knight).
I think the gate is called the Onyx Knight.
This will change in a few days.
