What is steam coal and what do you do with it?

I'm not on steam but there's this coal going for several hundred CE a pop? What does it do?

Thats enough... for most ppl with basic reading and understeanding capibilities.
And basicaly COAL is steam item, not SK item. It dont exist in SK and cannot be used here.

Basically, when their big winter sale ends, you can use however much coal you have to enter it into the contest. If you win, you can win some awesome stuff, like free games etc, and the Grand Prize!!!!! is EVERY SINGLE STEAM GAME. And there's like 100 first prizes which is the top 10 games on your wish list etc. So people want more coal so they have a better chance at winning.
