Chapter 2: Dark Days ahead.

The next day

I had had it. The dream was there again. Why wouldn't it go away. Ever since I woke up I swore I would find out whats happening. I thought that the voice in my dream might actually have been real. But where would I search? Haven? Or the clockworks? It would take a long time either way...

I decided to stop wasting time and look around Haven. When I looked at the auction house for over an hour I realized that was silly.

So I went to the Bazaar.

Before I left I saw a knight staring at me. Not like the knight in the dream. He looked... Curious.

"I should move on" I thought.

I arrived in the Bazaar to find no one there. "Strange" I hought. "Theres always some strangers here. There was one knight that came.

He wore a..... he wore somthing. It was too tattered and worn to tell what it was. He looked at me and smiled.

I had a feeling he was the one who talked to me in my dream. So I walked up tp him.

"Are you the one...." I said. I didn't finish the sentance because I didn't want some stranger to think I'm crazy if he's not the one.

He nodded. I couldn't believe it.

"oh good." I said. "I thought I'd have to look all day for you."

"You really think I would let you do all that pointless searching?" he questioned.

I assumed that was rhetorical. 'What do you want with me?" I said.

He said, "Follow me."

He left and I followed. "Where are we going" I asked. He yelled back at me, "To safe place!"

We went through all the alleyways and some passages I didn't know about in Haven.

"Are we getting close?" I asked anxiously.

He stopped next to a wall. "Look" he said.

He went through the wall. I reallized my mouth was gaping I closed it, and moved toward the wall. I touched it, and felt tingly inside. A hand reached out and pulled me in. As I passed through I suddenly heaRD the rush of water. Looking around, I saw there was a small and calm stream 5 yards in front of me. The ground was green, and I think there was a waterfall somewhere.

"What do you think of my home?" he asked.

I said, "It's amazing!". I enjoyed nature.

There was another knight there. He was the one looking at me at the auction house.

He walked over to me and said, "Hello! Glad to have you on board!"

"What?"

"Well... You... You ARE going to help us right?" he said.

"I haven't told her yet." the knight said to the ...er... other knight.

"What are you're names?" I asked.

"I'm Dusk." one of them said. He was the one who looked at me. Me shaked hands.

"I can't tell you my name yet." The other one said.

"So... Why did you bring me here?" I asked.

Dusk grew serious. "We need you to save cradle."

Chapter 3: What has been foretold...

I laughed at them. "Cradle is perfectly safe" I said. "Theres no problem here besides the natives. And they have proven to be easy prey."

"You talk like one of the killers." the mysterious knight says.

"Killers?" i asked. "Killers." He said. "They are those knights who care only about killing and have a lust for blood."

"No! I love nature! I didn't mean that..... Well.... Sorry!!" i said.

"I understand" he replied. "Now. I must tell you about the fate of cradle." I stood silent, waiting for the explanation. "For over 10,000 years cradle has been peaceful. When we arrived we disrupted the peace. The core will open."

"Wait wait wait... The core will open? That's great!! I wonder what's inside!" I said.

He responded coldly, "Death. Death and pain and suffering. That's what's in the core." he looked to the ground. "3 of my friends sacrificed themselves so that we could love a while longer. But soon it will all be over.... That is.. Unless you help us." He looked at me. "Will you please help us?"

"Well.. err.... I guess so. I could use a run to the core. Lets's go to Emberlight then." I said. He stopped me. "No. we must start at the first depth." He said.

"What, why?" I said. He replied, "Too many questions. I will answer once we leave."

Depth 1

"Ok, if you don't start answering my questions i'm going to be leaving" I said. "I'll answer you're questions" Dusk said. He walked next to me. "What do you want to know?"

"Well first..... What did he mean by all that in the core?" I asked. "I'm not sure myself. My best guess is that the core contains some kind of monster" Dusk said.

"Hm..." I thought. "Why does he want ME to come along?" I asked. He turned to face me, "You've had the dreams yes?" he asked. I said, "If you mean those nightmares I've had lately then yes." I told him. He said, "Then the planet has chosen you."

I didn't want to move further into the subject. "Wouldn't it be easier for us to have more people to come along?" I asked. "Others will come." he said. "And when they do, we must leave you." he said.

"WHAT?!" I yelled. "I don't know what this is about, what I should do..." I stopped. "How do you even know that I won't just go back to Haven once you leave?" I asked smugly.

He simply said with a cold stare, "Don't."

Chapter 6: A furry situation.

We descended into the first depth of the gloaming wildwoods. It was darker and much more creepy than any other part of the clockworks. I don't think any trojans ever come here, so Mystic had a disadvantage.

"No wonder my species never comes here..." Mystic said. "It's so overgrown with plants we trip easily." The familiar wave of wolvers came to attack us. We had all had many encounters with wolvers and dealt with them easily. As we battled more, and got closer to the gate, I asked Kirogen how he got mixed up in this nonsense. "Well, I kept having these dreams that were freaky. So I found a knight that told me to go to the mechas." "Same thing happened to me" I said. "But he helped me get through a few depths then he left." A wolver popped up next to me and lunged at my throat. Kirogen simply thrusted his sword forward, stunning the wolver on contact.

"Thanks" I said
"No problem"

Soon enough, we got to the gate and headed for the second depth. The population of wolvers here was thick,, and we had to use a health pill or two. We stopped to rest on a log for a moment. I drank from my water canteen and saw a pair of blood red eyes looking at me. Almost hypnotized, I started walking towards it. "No" Kirogen said. He grabbed my hand and held me back. "Don't look at it" He said. Soon it went back into the dark shadows and left us alone. I snapped out of my trance and thanked Kirogen. As we went along more dangers popped up.

Somewhere in a gremlin laboratory

"Project Roarmulus was a failure." Sinkre said. "But this should deal with those pesky knights." "What are you calling it, sir?" Trocle asked.

"I'll call it.... Project "Shadows"" he said. "That fits the project well" Trocle said. They both looked at their sinister creation. It looked right back at them. "Before we set it free we should give it a test." Sinkre said. "Those knights headed to the core is just what we need."

The gremlins set the thing free. Faster then the eye could see, it ran off to find the knights. "Set to kill?" Trocle said. "No. Set to capture." Sinkre said.
