i have a couple of ideas my first one is kill count in clockworks, this can help to decipher between players and get even more achievements and that could be added this can also create competitions in the game to if there my be a skirmish, how many monsters can you kill skirmish if there ever will be one e.g continues feed of monsters in to one room till they become rely hard. you could place the kill count under the mini map, i guess you could determine how many kills a player gets buy the last hit or most damage was taken my a player.
my second idea is probably one you've herd before.
it would be good to have a lift or alarm that you could look at just under the mini map so you could time your self when your going through a level and know when the next change is going to be.

I dunno about kill counters - it's not necessarily a useful metric for determining player skill as a straight count (murdering twenty chromalisks =/= murdering twenty lumbers) and could quite easily lead to particularly catty party leaders kicking people for not pulling their weight, which in the long term doesn't really benefit anyone (people have to learn somehow; if you get stuck babysitting an inexperienced player, you can either moan and/or kick them or man the hell up and teach them how to be a better player). It might be an interesting statistic to track for personal interest, but I'm leery of appending them to levels.
