I have a Silent Nightblade and it's served me well in RJP and I'm thinking of upgrading to Acheron for those days I don't feel like FSC but I don't know if it's worth it. Is the damage nerfed enough that the difference is negligible compared to the Silent Nightblade?

When you speak of the Acheron's damage being nerfed, do you mean in Stratum 4 (e.g., RJP)? It doesn't do much more damage than a Silent Nightblade, but the charge attack produces more explosions, so it is noticeably although not hugely better. None of the 5-star swords really shine until Stratum 6, right?
If you're into swords, then you're going to want a shadow sword eventually, even if not now. Your only choices are Acheron and Gran Faust. I like Gran Faust a lot, but I like Acheron even more. So in general it is a good investment, and I encourage it.

Gran Faust = some ppl like it, but for me its LOSE
but then again, i might be biased coz i have mostly 3-swing swords xP
You'll still want it for any other slime level you may happen to find in the future, like Ice queen, but yes talking about RJP, the base damage increase will be of no more than 10 points if there's even one.
