do kleptolisk's drop your eaten items after kill or is it just pure luck with me? (answered thanks alpha!)

many times a kleptolisk stole a item from me and i got it back after defeat but im not sure if its luck

They drop the items they steal when you kill them. If they didn't, it'd be really unfair. I mean, what if they stole a health capsule or a Mecha Knight Kit? You wouldn't be able to get it back, and both are moderately rare to find.
