Steam Achievements and Inventory

Hello everyone.
I'm new here, and I was wondering: if I play Spiral Knights away from my home computer (at a public computer, like at school) that doesn't have the Steam overlay, when I get home and log into Steam will it recognize my non-Steam actions in game and award achievements appropriately?

In correct, you can log into your steam account, with out using the steam program or overlay, i doubt it will credit your achievements for steam side though.

I've tried this
I've tried this with 3 different computers during Christmas. Okay, i was logged in steam at home. I left my place without logging out. I visited someone elses place but wanted to play SK with a friend. I downloaded steam, authorized my friend's laptop with an authentication code sent in via email, logged in then installed SK. I don't know what happened but a few 2* learned recipes I had were missing, it's nothing to rage about so I just bought the same recipes again in AH and learned them. I experimented to see if those recipes will go amiss again when I authenticate my account in another computer so I got another laptop. Downloaded steam, installed SK, play, checked to see if some things are missing. Nope, everything is there and so are my achievements.
I'm playing SK at home now and nothing changed. Don't know what happened the first time but everything is okay. It works.

Short answer, No your actions won't count.
Long answer
when you are at home, your steam automatically logs you into your account when playing spiral knights.
so when you are somewhere without steam you won't be able to log into your main account.
But if you set up an account outside of steam, you will be able to play that anywhere.
