I've read the wiki and compared stats, but I still can't decide which one would be better agains constructs, so i need your opinion guys... Prismatech MK2 seems good since it's elemental, but Super Blaster is much faster, and i think it has a bigger clip as well... Which one kills constructs faster?

btw i've been using firotech, it's been quite useful... but still...

EDIT: to avoid making another thread... Should I get an Antigua instead? If I did, I'd craft a Silversix, since its stats looks nice (Piercing/Elemental), but i don't know if it's worth it, or if i should aim for either Prismatech or Blaster lines...

Don't tell me to get a blackhawk though, I already have a Nightblade for shadow dmg.

Ok then!

For anti-constructs, I personally love the Pulsar -> Polaris line. Elemental damage, pwns gun puppies, and can keep them lumbers away from you.

I dont think the Alchemers work well against Constructs, and if you want a dedicated Anti-construct, then you REALLY need an elemental weapon.

As for the Antigua line, Silversix does not work well on Constructs. It does a great big MEH on Constructs. It actually does LESS than neutral damage, due to half pierce.

Alchemers work really well

Alchemers work really well against Constructs, seeing as they have a type advantage. The Super Blaster is a good, well rounded gun and has no weakness and advantages, so it may work better where your swords fail to deliver.

The pulsar line is great.

I think the alchemer line is slightly more advanced, but if you've been using it already..
At mk2, I don't think the alchemer is a very standout gun. Once you get into the drivers, you'll see those multiple split shots do a lot of damage.

Antiguas are a pain. They have their uses, but mostly, they're a pain until 5*

I...never use my blaster gun anymore.

elemental drivers work way

elemental drivers work way better than a lame polaris against constructs AND undead.

back to OP's Q:
the alchemer is better. to get even more dps, make the ricochet spawn inside the monster so u do 4 hits with 2 shots

I would stick with the

I would stick with the prismatech

when you hit Prisma Driver (4*) it can deal single-target damage that is comparable to the pulsar elemental line, when using it you will not feel thirsty for single target damage at all. On top of that, you gain split bullets which can total more area effect damage than a polaris, and an amazing charge attack.

Polaris gets a blast radius that can shoot mobs every which way, gains knockback which can be extremely annoying in groups and reduce the amount of damage you do because bullets knocking the mob away from other bullets, shock which can make the knockback even more annoying when you needed it most (shock cancels knockback), very slow bullet speed, and a safety that makes close up bullets underwhelming. Polaris is only good as a fourth / third wep for swordsman mostly because you do not want to use it on everything, especially when you are in a group.

The blaster line seems like it would do more damage because it is faster but, against a construct:
a valiance bullet, heated at 10 no damage bonus, will do around 100 according to wiki.
a nova driver with the same heat / no damage bonuses will do around 200, also according to the wiki.

3 valiance bullets = 300ish damage, 2 nova (prisma) bullets = 400ish damage. In a single clip before reloading.

When watching, you'll notice that the prismatech line finishes its clip faster than the blaster line on top of this.

On top of this, a blaster can not split bullets / ricochet split bullets etc. and has no area effect whatsoever (except for the common between-2-mobs clipping, which a driver / alchemer will clip its splits inside the the between-2-mob clipping.) But gains knockback at its 5* version.

So I would definately go Prismatech, I have the Nova and it is awesome :)

Edit: OH YEAH the antigua question: DUNT DO IT

AP and Sent / the antigua lines have absolutely no utility, no area effect, and no power! 1. they are split piercing and a specialty, so you never get to specialize and get that 25% damage bonus. It is only effective on two families atm. otherwise it deals 75% of its damage or less

Despite what you will read or hear:

1. AP deal 62.5% of its damage to gremlins and slimes. 75% of its damage to constructs and beasts. 112.5% of its damage to undead and fiends.
2. Sent deals 62.5% to construct and undead. 75% to fiend and slime, and 112.5% to gremlin and beast.

Now lets say both of the guns go through with the buff that makes AP pure elemental and Sentenza pure shadow. You still have a gun that has no utility or AoE, unlike every other gun (literally, every other gun) out there. (name one and I will explain why). So AP and Sent is unique because they have nothing unique, just a run of the mill shooty thing.

Go nova driver :D

@Dirt: funny thing theres a recent thread in there about this, but this thread was posted before it. I know cause I started typing in there 2 minutes after it came up, but that is way after I typed in here.

@Blue: If you want to hear more good things about Polaris, it is good but I will tell you later on you will feel regret as a gunner going into that first. If you need a thir / fourth weapon and you are a swordsman then polaris is the better option because you most likely are after gun puppy killing, but as a gunner which is sounds like you are, your first gun to get of the two should be an alchemer of some sort. I use polaris in FSC because the knockback gets me out of tight situations, but I'll tell you other times in tight situations I've used a nova and things died before they hurt me / didn't have to deal with zombies jumping into my polaris safety.

I would never take a polaris if i did not take Nova Driver as well

and np

@ The-Rawrcake I only use two

@ The-Rawrcake
I only use two weapon slots, so a polaris wouldn't be the right choice for me, plus it's bloody expensive (and i'm not really into crafting stuff)...
and no, i'm not a gunner, I just switch weapons quite often... I use my Nightblade at first (IMO an awesome sword), but whenever my enemy is out of range or if i'm close to death, I switch to my alchemer to avoid taking much damage. It's nice having some more advice though :)
and before you ask, yes, I have already gotten myself a Prismatech Mk2 and its damage looks nice in the advanced training hall (haven't tested it in the clockworks though).
