does the skolver coat REALLY only provide normal damage protection? it seems terrible to me that up until the 5-star version you get normal/piercing defense, but then lose piercing defense for the 5-star (or if you go the other crafting route, you also lose piercing for elemental). the wiki article image is from march so I'm guessing theres a chance the stats are incorrect. can anyone confirm or deny this?
skolver coat loses piercing defense? (please confirm/deny)
1.) i'm not a "new recruit" and you should know that by now -- its simply a question of whether or not the wiki data is accurate. i haven't really settled on what my armor line is going to be so I was considering starting from scratch
2.) i'm complaining because it seems odd that up until the 5-star variants, you have piercing defense. then you (according to old wiki data, which I know might be unreliable) lose piercing defense and don't get much more normal defense for the sacrifice.. the other variant exchanges elemental protection for the piercing, which is fine AND looks like it has the same normal defense). if true, that seems really useless.
i am trying to craft armor/helm combos that will give me a balanced all around defense, I dont care to argue about how useful piercing is. i'm not worried about boss runs, just getting to tier 3 and to the core terminal, then I will worry about different sets of armor.
im not even sure im going to end up with the skolver, but it would be nice to know what the accurate stats are, since i was looking for something with good piercing/normal protection, and i dont care for the gunslinger line.
Mix and matching for weak defense of all types is suicidal compared to getting defense for the two most common damage types, Normal and Elemental. Kats and zombies are easy to repel, and only lichen do piercing. Gun puppies, however, get bullets everywhere, and everything does some Normal.
so i should probably go grey feather cowl over divine veil then? (was pretty set on doing something in that line, leveling up my miracle hood now)
whats the best secondary damage type to prevent against?
Armors are currently not up to date. The helms are, usually the armors and helms have similar stats. Use the helms as a basis for now.
It's silly how an armour made from beasts is strong to piercing damage.
I just realized that the Devilite Overtimer variants also do piercing damage, as well as filling most of their mini-arenas with spikes.
bump to see if anyone can answer the question i posed: what damage type (beyond normal) is most desirable to defend against using armor/helm? is that something where I should split between elemental and shadow, or what? whats most common / hardest to avoid?
doh. sorry i had read it once or twice, but not well enough, i didnt catch that part. thanks
Don't trust the wiki.
Also, it would be a lot better if Skolver lost the piercing defense and had a lot more Normal defense, then it'd be useful. I don't see why you're complaining.
Also, New Recruits is down one.
