think if there is alot of enemies shock you'll get them fire it spreads so which should i get combuster or voltedge

I think shock is the most
I think shock is the most deadly status effect you can get from the brandish line, but that is just my opinion. Not only does it deal damage, it can also spread when the spasm happens, and the spasm stops whatever the enemy was doing. However, as Bopp said, that doesn't necessarily mean it will work with your playing style or what you will be using this for.

I prefer fire over shock, but there are benefits to both. I'm going to pick up the voltedge because the combuster is less effective in Firestorm Citadel.

all the way. even if zombies in FSC could catch fire, i would pick a voltege. i love my voltege, it stops evenmies almost as well as a glacius and it does dmg to! i have been saved many times when an enemy is about to atk right after i do something that wud leave me open, and the shock interupts them and gives me time to recover ;)
You've given us almost no information about yourself, so it's hard for us to give specific advice. For example, do you want this for PvE or PvP? Do you have any other elemental swords, or are you going to be using this sword in FSC? In the latter case, fire is useless so you probably want Voltedge.
