How to (virtually) eliminate leavers in Lock Down

If you have ever played Lock Down, I'm willing to bet that you have frequently witnessed people leaving before and during matches. Perhaps they wanted to play on Frostbite for the achievement, or recognize a strong player on the opposing team and forfeit, or simply leave to troll. Whatever the reason, this results in extremely unbalanced teams and makes LD less appealing each time it happens.

I have a few suggestions to address this problem:

1. Display a prominent "Report Player" button at the results window which is enabled only when a person leaves. This button should be accessible by both teams. For repeat offenders, disallow their participation from Lock Down for a few days.

2. Fine the people who leave an increasing amount of crowns and/or automatically award their team a "pity" Krogmo Coin.

3. For every 2 people that leave team A, one person from team B is randomly chosen to join team A to maintain a balanced match. However, this may lead to intentional feeding/trolling in Guild Lock Down.

Thank you for reading my suggestions, and I welcome any constructive criticism.

For 1 it would seem to make

For 1 it would seem to make more sense to have an automatic counter that resets every so often rather than relying on other players to report (or even I don't think it is worth encouraging people to report for LD leaving). I can see the merit of applying temp bans on LD entry for those that repeatedly leave (and it would have to be a decent number to prevent wrongly penalising those that might have an off day with their connection).

2 would either be harshly penalising or highly abusable depending on which way you'd go with it. In fact, a pity coin in guild match might encourage someone to leave to benefit the rest of the team or even have people in random match "selling" the service of leaving to net the team an extra coin each.

3 would work in a balance sense but might p*** off people who might have been on the winning team for the whole match only to suddenly get switched onto the losing team because people drop out. When prizes are involved that just seems wrong. The losing team might be suffering due to leavers but that doesn't mean we have to go randomly penalise one of the other players too.

What happens if you have to leave to go out and can't finish the match?

Vote for #1

The first option is probably the best, but I have a suggestion. Instead of being prevented from playing in Lockdown the player goes into a timed purgatory where they are locked within a jail cell and cannot communicate in game or do anything until their time is up. The length of time would get progressively longer for each offending leave. And here's the kicker... the timer is active only while the player is logged in so they can't just log off and wait it out. Normal idle condition apply so they would still get kicked if they aren't active.

Oh, and I have been booted from Lockdown before simply because it was taking too long to load. The match had started and by the time it came up for me it started loading me back into Haven saying I was booted for non-participation. This was well before the new achievement was released.

I never found leaving to be a

I never found leaving to be a problem as it happens equally to both sides, these solutions sound too harsh.

Yeah

I can't agree with 1, some people have legitimate reasons to suddenly leave a match, and it would be unfair to punish them because no-one else knows whats going on.

But 2 and 3 sound pretty ok.

True

I've experienced people leaving a lot, one time it was only me and somebody VS oh dunno 6 DARN PLAYERS!! But yea these options sound pretty reasonable 'cept for #1 I mean if they get booted from the game for a few days what if they want something in the shop that is limited or for specific a mount of time? I have a feeling that OOO will make those eventually.......about #3 sometimes one team rules with an iron fist over the other, so having that is not a good option as you will be on the winning team suddenly finding yourself booted to the losing one. Finally #2 is best I think only problem is that some people will take advantage of it. That's my point made. Now have a good day!

I don't agree with 2 or 3,

I don't agree with 2 or 3, but 1 sounds okay if, instead of banning them from the game, every time someone leaves a match early, they have to wait 5 or 10 (or more) minutes before signing up for lockdown again.

They should just ban people

They should just ban people that leave repeatedly, at least 5 times, for one day. I dont agree with 2 or 3 neither.
