Hello! I'm planning to delve into the shadow lairs as soon as I get my loadout to 5*, but I just wanted to know what the best setup would be;

Planned setup;

Skolver Set
Barbarous Thorn Shield

Barbarous Thorn Blade
Polaris
Blitz Needle
-Undecided, possibly Shivermist?-

I just don't want to be a massive drain on a party in the lair, any help appreciated!

Looks fairly good.

Looks pretty good! Shivermist is a good bomb to have, as it slows things down.
The Blitz is the weak point though, as it leaves you vulnerable.
Even if it's only for quarter of a second, in UGW that's easily enough time to be nailed.

Maybe you could switch that out for your favorite elemental sword?

And, are you planning on having any trinkets?

largely agree

There have been several threads on this; search the forums.

Basically the SGWW is loaded with beasts and undead with a poison theme. So you want normal, piercing, shadow, and poison armor/shield. You want elemental and piercing weapons, and crowd control.

So BTB and Shivermist are extremely useful. Polaris is fine, but you want an elemental sword, for those tight fights packed with undead (which are common). It would be nice to have some shadow and poison protection (Skelly, Fallen, Valkyrie, etc.). I agree that the Blitz is too slow to be safe in there, but I've never tried it.

Got it, ill trade the Blitz out for my DA, then, and i only have a sword CTR trinket at this point as i have been focused on armaments and armor first. I did search first, as well, but my searches brought up a ton of trading topics, so i may have buggered that up.

Thanks for the help!

Shadow lairs and bombers...

In a nutshell, I don't have advice, but I'm going to QQ here, and ask a question. WHAT ABOUT BOMBERS, Nick y u no give bombers pierce or shadow armor D:

not what this thread is about

This thread is about what to wear into the Shadow Lairs, not about the armor that you get by beating the Shadow Lairs.

Yes, it can be argued that sworder armor is generally better than gunner armor (although gunners get to stay farther from danger) and bomber armor (although bombers do go right into danger). This has been discussed in numerous threads, best housed in the Suggestions forum.

What about bombers? Get

What about bombers? Get shiver, a proper team that handles the situation while you provide well needed support and nothing will touch you.

What Dark Ritual?

I'm probably a bit late, but here's what I use.

Skolver Set

Barbarous Thorn Shield

Barbarous Thorn Blade
Divine Avenger
Polaris
Shivermist/Argent Peacemaker

Then either two Elite Trueshots modules (Sometimes), two Penta-Heart Pendants (Rare, can be a big help though.), or some type of split between my trinkets.

The only thing you really then have to avoid is lumbers, they can catch me by surprise a bit. The zombies, kats, and Howlitzers' attacks are easy enough to avoid.

What I think is the best gear

What I think is the best gear for each player type (gunslinger, swordmaster, bomber)
Swordmaster:
Skolver set/Snarbolax set (but obviously you need to beat SGWW 2 times to get the full set)
Barbarous Thorn Shield/Dread Skelly Shield
Final Flourish/Barbarous Thorn Blade
Divine Avenger/Elemental Brandishes
Polaris (support)
Shivermist Buster (support)
Heart Pendants/Elite Quick Strike Module/Elite Sword Focus Module
Gunner:
Justifier set or Justifier+Deadshot
Ironmight Plate Shield (incredible health)/Dread Skelly Shield
Callahan
Polaris
Argent Peacemaker (Undeads)
Final Flourish/Barbarous Thorn Blade/Shivermist Buster (support)
Heart Pendants/Elite Trueshot Module/Elite Gun Focus Module/Elite Quick Draw Module (depending on what you chose for the armor/helm)
Bomber:
For armor and helm I am not so sure. Maybe Mad Bomber set/Mad Bomber Suit+Volcanic Demo Helm/Volcanic Demo set?
Ironmight Plate Shield (again for incredible health)/Dread Skelly Shield
Stagger Storm (stun is very useful on Beasts, they can't attack after stunned)/Shivermist Buster
Nitronome
Dark Briar Barrage
Final Flourish/Barbarous Thorn Blade/Argent Peacemaker/Polaris (support)
Hear Pendants/Bomb Trinkets

Radiant Silvermail is good, but

Radiant Silvermail is an obvious choice for SGWW, yes. But the original poster was working off Skolver and Skolver. Pairing Skolver Cap with Radiant Silvermail would provide normal+piercing+piercing+shadow. I think that normal+normal+piercing+shadow is probably better. That's why I mentioned only normal+shadow armor.
