Hello,

With the new health trinkets introduced I am trying to figure out which trinkets I should get.
At the moment this is my gear:
DA
Faust
Dark thorn blade
Wise owlite shield
Gigawatt pulsar
Silversix
Ash tail coat
Ash tail cap
Dark thorn shield

I know I am an very standard player and maybe a bit boring, but so far I like it ^^

Now that you got an impression of my gear I would like to know what trinkets would fit me.
At this moment I have no trinkets, and 3 weapon slots.
The trinkets that I can choose from are:
Elite Quick Strike Module
Elite Slash Module
Elite Sword Focus Module
Penta Heart Pendant

I know that I should get them all eventually but I would like to see the 2 that would benefit me the most with the current gear.
The order of me crafting will be:
Divine avenger (already in possesion)
Wise owlite shield -> Grey owlite shield
Dark thorn blade -> Barbarous thorn blade
Gigawatt Pulsar -> Polaris
Silversix -> Argent Peacemaker
Ash tail coat cap + coat -> Vog cub/Skolver cap + coat (not sure about this)
Dark thorn shield -> Barbarous thorn shield

About the gear, this will be mainly the first gear I am going to get.
It will be upgraded with:
Crest of Almire for Shadow defense
Skolver + Vog cub + Snarbolax to have all 3 defenses covered.
Blitz needle (Not sure about this)

Also If anyone has any tips about the order of upgrading, fire away.

Thanks,

It really depends on what you

It really depends on what you like doing.

- If you like using your guns a lot alongside your swords, you should probably go for Heart Pendants since your guns don't benefit from sword modules.
- If you find yourself dying a lot, definitely go for Heart Pendants.
- If you charge up your swords a lot, you should probably go for the Charge Time Reduction, which also has the benefit of being useful regardless of what armor you're wearing. CTR is great on the DA.
- If you plan to wear full Skolver/Snarby a lot with the BTS, you're already at Max damage, so more damage won't help. If you're planning on wearing Vog instead, you'll probably want to cap off your damage.

A lot of people like to mix and match with one Heart Pendant and one sword module. I think that's a reasonable course of action as well.

my own setup

I haven't tested this in detail, and I don't have any heart pendants, and I use mainly swords, so take my advice with a grain of salt. But anyway my strategy is:
* Wear sword damage bonus trinkets with Vog Cub, and sword attack speed trinkets with Skolver or Snarbolax.
* Try to get Medium charge time reduction as a UV. Of course, heat level 10 also gives Medium charge time reduction.
With this system, my swords are always Very High in all three properties (attack speed increase, damage bonus, charge time reduction). Then, Barbarous Thorn Shield and additional/better UVs let me exceed Very High in one or more of these properties. I frequently have Maximum! attack speed increase and Maximum! damage bonus.

I went for a bomb CTR trinket

I went for a bomb CTR trinket first, so that I could charge status bombs faster without having to wear bomber gear. If you're planning on making a shivermist or electron vortex or something this should be on your list.

Next one I made was the sword CTR trinket. Faster CTR will keep you out of trouble when you use charge-heavy swords like the DA, Brandishes or BTB, plus the only other way to get CTR on swords is via UVs.

Lastly I made a sword damage trinket, so that I could get an increase on my sword damage without having to craft them all individually up to 5*. Depending on the stratum you can end up doing more damage with a 4* sword and a damage trinket than with a 5* sword and no trinket. For example, an Avenger at the end of S4/T2 will be doing ~150 damage on the first hit against undead/construct with just a 4* Slash Module, wheras a DA at the same depth without the module will do 144. Similarly at the end of S5 an Elite Slash Module on an Avenger will outdamage a DA.

Heart pendants, on the other hand, are a delight in T1 and T2 lockdown, though in T3 I suspect that it's more of a toss-up between heart pendants and damage modules (CTR and ASI can be had with UVs, but there's no "Damage vs Player" UV). If you go Skolver or Snarbolax and Striker you'll want heart pendants because you'll be at max damage, but if you go Vog you might want damage modules instead.

To complement or augment, that is the question!

You can either use your trinket slots to complement your armor or augment it. Like Bopp, I prefer to complement, with Very High being a good target level. So, depending on the equipment I load out with, I either use 2x Trueshot (gunner), or mix and match Slash and Quickstrike.

In short, you can use those trinkets to cover deficiencies, or hit hardest where it counts (Maximum! damage, Slash modules). I do find ASI Very High to be very important when using heavy swords though, as it can make the difference between swatting a Slag Walker or getting your face clawed off.
