I'm pretty new to the game and I recently got Tier 2 gear

But I keep getting booted out of every single party and end up playing solo in Tier 2. I literally just join a random group then the leader usually immediately boots me. How do I stop that from happening?

Also, can you guys offer any tips on how to play this game? It's pretty limited with mist energy regenerating very slowly and C.E. not easy to buy since I can't join any T2's without getting booted. I am thinking in sticking in T1 since I can at least solo it, but the crown/heat gain is very low.

Can't seem to win any lockdown games ever since everyone is more geared than me and I have a 1 bar of connection every single time. It's confusing as hell too because I see my death before I see the guy who killed me. It's damn impossible to win or do any damage unless I got a pro on the team. I've basically just been paying 200 crowns for a chance to win coins/tokens.

In T2, don't use Energy Revive unless you HAVE to (no one rezing you is not really a problem unless the person still alive is trying to run away instead of fighting). Dodge whatever attacks that come in. This would train you for T3 (which attacks would usually wipe out 1/3 your bar in one hit). Plus, people kicking you is their problem. When you solo, enemies have less HP, which is generally fine unless you really need assistance (which the general new comer often needs), so try going with friends, first, until you gain more 3 star armors and weapons as well as armors suited to the stratums, which would favor your likelihood of being seen as a veteran player as well as ups your survival when hit. As for connection, try moving closer to a internet hotspot and putting all options to low, but in your runner, set SpiralKnights to very high in priorities so it runs on high when it's on. To get richer in T1, sell Snarbolax Bristling Bucklers to get more armors. For T2 moneymaking, kill the Royal Jelly, being the known-for-easiness boss. Plus, tons of enemies give lots of crowns, so in T2, it's more advised you bring more range attacks (like guns) or hit to knockdown and run. Don't run into enemies randomly, but coordinate all attacks. Follow the leader's instructions and follow the team. Follow someone when the team is split up, in your case. Watch out big time for any homing attacks, retrodes, random jelly Spikes, and hidden monsters that get in the way when running around an arena. Get a good gun (really helped me tons) and a good sword. If no gun, then get a bomb that would trap mobs (electron, freezing, etc.) or do large damage (sun shards, firey, etc.). Bring a sword constantly to get rid of any incoming enemies to knock back. To keep from getting kicked, join friends or guilds that would do such expeditions.

The reason everyone may kick

The reason everyone may kick you is because you have fresh T2 armor not upgraded at all that makes you look nooby and/or not so strong for them. The best solution is to start a new party and let others join, or finding friends that won't kick you.

agree

People who kick people for no reason are pretty rude. You said that you sometimes play with only one connection bar. So do you experience poor performance? Does it take you a long time, to load a level? Do you get disconnected often? That would explain the kicking.

You will probably be kicked less often when you get better gear. Find a guild with nice people, and play with them for a while; they probably won't kick you. When you are in a party, behave well. Do not revive with energy unless everyone in the party is dead. Follow the party leader, rather than running off on your own. Avoid high-knockback weapons.

In each tier, the second half pays better than the first half. Arenas also pay extremely well. So work arenas and the Royal Jelly Palace to make money. If nothing else, playing solo lets you work at your own pace and practice fighting. I did Firestorm Citadel (omitting Vanaduke) at least 10 times solo, before I started doing it with parties, just to learn the place.

My internet speed is around 1

My internet speed is around 1 mb/sec, but it's probably due to this game not having support for regions outside America. I have never dcd and my loading is usually fast. But lots of people were complaining about lag earlier today so that could be server issues.

Also, I try not to rez, but I've met a lot more people willing to ditch me than rez and its not only me, they just ignore pretty much everyone who died and keep going further down.

How can I play with friends if I just started? I have no friends in this game and I'm sure my other steam friends wouldn't be interested in this game.

Also, it's generally hard to farm crowns for better gear when it's impossible to find a decent party in tier2, not to mention im only getting around 3000 crowns per tier1 run and get booted, lose energy and die in tier2 if I attempt it.

I have been looking around for guilds, just a bunch of guilds that want 4 star geared people and the nooby ones are inactive, I've friend requested a few people and they havent had a response in 3 days.

I haven't got a good gun yet, got a pummeler from a recipe I crafted randomly on the first 2 days. Can't find any advice on good guns.

I haven't figured out how to do boss runs without wasting too much energy, I just fluked into snarky twice, rest were just random floor tiers. No one seems to join when I host. Also getting pretty annoyed about wasting 10 energy to get to the level that has the two merchants, then use another energy to go down another level

That happens to my younger

That happens to my younger brother too for some reason, and he's full five star. Never happens to me, and I have slightly less gear than him. We each join random parties, and share a computer. To be honest, I think it's the way he types. Lots of nice things he says end up looking like insults becuase he uses things like "U" and "Y".

Nigmanoname, there are servers now in Europe, although if you're in Asia that probably doesn't help much.

In Tier 2 the people may not revive you reliably, because they themselves are not experts yet. So that's too bad.

On those rare occasions when you do have a nice party, try to make friends with one of the people. They will eventually lead you to other people. This is how networking works. It's a useful life skill. You have to work, at building up your friends. A guild is essentially a stop-gap measure, that gets you some loose friends quickly.

You can farm Tier 2 solo. You just need to build up your skill. This takes time. Be patient with yourself. The game is worth it. Good luck.

I occasionally get

I occasionally get immediately booted out of groups, probably just because they were saving the spot for one of their friends and didn't have time to lock or can't figure out how to lock. Doesn't happen all that much, though, probably because most of the runs I do nowadays are with friends/guild.

I will say that me, guild, and friends rarely ever kick anyone, though. So if you're getting kicked, it's likely not by good players (good players will lock party if they don't want you to join). I don't think it has anything to do with equipment. Also, once you're kicked people can still join your group.

The solution is to start parties yourself and to make some friends to do runs with. If it's fun to talk to you, most people will friend you even if your gear isn't any good, so just try to have fun. And don't give up on trying to join random groups, particularly in the jelly gate. It's the most profitable and I think it's less kickish.

Sounds like you really

Sounds like you really haven't been having bad luck with joining groups. Unless you literally take 5 minutes to load the level, or take 5 minutes to notice that the level's loaded and you can play, or are intentionally trying to make your group die, there's no reason for you to get kicked. And you should never get kicked without an attempt at a warning (may not reach you if your computer hasn't finished loading the level).

Kicking you because of the level of your gear is inexcusable. If they don't want to carry you, they should lock their party.
And besides, they atleast need to spend the time checking to see if you actually have low level gear equipped or just in your costume slot.

And rezing others, is the right thing to do, and the smart thing to do. If people abandon you, then they're not getting your help. Though if someone does abandon you like that, don't bother doing an energy revive or to go to Haven quite yet. Ask them to rez you, and if they don't, start doing something else on your computer, but do keep half an eye on spiral knights to check for them dying, rezing you or reaching the elevator. If they can complete the level with you dead, a free ride!

It is the right of the party leader

It is the right of the party leader to kick whomever he/she wants- by joining a party, you are acknowledging that. Sure, it's a dick thing to kick someone on a whim, but that is the way you need to treat the 'Join Party' option. The solution is to start your own open party and wait for joiners.
I've never booted someone for being undergeared, unless they're also being idiots and not listening to advice. In the latter case, I usually leave them where they lie and they either ragequit on their own or change their stance and politely wait for me to finish the level.

A thing to remember about Tier 2 is that mistakes are more costly (in terms of HP). You can take dozens of hits in Tier 1 and keep going (hearts you pick up easily cancel the amount of damage you take), but in Tier 2, you can get knocked out after 3-4 hits if you lack the right defense. If the best you have is 2* gear, you need to take it slow, drawing off individual enemies where possible, and avoid waking turrets where possible. Some enemies like Gremlin Thwackers also have different attack patterns, so you'll want to learn those as well. I remember doing the Royal Jelly Palace levels solo in 2* gear (Just a Calibur, Owlite Shield and Blaster!) and it took me almost half an hour to clear d16- but it was super exciting, and it taught me how to manage jellies, lumbers, turrets and spikes. These skills will be invaluable in Tier 3, where no amount of gear will let you Rambo through the level.

There's a few reasons you

There's a few reasons you might be getting insta-kicked:

You're taking ages to load into the level. This will be most frequent in T2 on the Royal Jelly gate, or on the Vanaduke gate as experienced players will want to clear the levels quickly in order to get to RJP to farm the boss or Emberlight to skip the subtown fee. The most noob friendly T2 gate is probably going to be the snarby gate, since you'll often get into a party with other fresh T2'ers who have just completed a snarby run and are continuing into T2.

You're wearing theme-inappropriate gear, like a skelly armor, jelly shield and flourish in a fire/construct themed gate. Doing this kinda screams "I'm gonna get killed a lot and be a drag on the team".

The party leader simply forgot to lock the party and is saving spots for friends.

There's a few reasons you might be getting kicked not long after joining:

You're using blast bomb or calibur charges to fling enemies around the map. Don't do that. Other things to avoid: using a pea-shooter on mechaknights, devilites, wolvers or gremlins, causing them to shield or dodge when your teammates are trying to attack them.

You're tanking damage and dying quickly rather than dodging and shielding. Getting hit by attacks in T1 isn't a big deal, but in T2 and T3 it will get you killed very, very quickly and make you a burden to the rest of your team.

If any of these sound familiar, you've probably found your problem.

Usually takes 1 minute to

Usually takes 1 minute to load, I dunno if that's fast or not.

I only have two armor sets, wolver and cobalt, I've gotten my cobalt up to 6 so I switched into my wolver to level it. Also have a vita suit to increase hp.

I am good at avoid death and kiting with a pummel gun, problem is that the gun is very weak and I don't know what is a good one with a good alchemy path (I've already mentioned these two things, why do people keep saying the same thing). I've soloed a couple of arenas but it took ages to do solo, especially when it's the turret round, the lag doesn't help either.

I have no bomb equipped. I do have caliber and a tempered caliber recipe which I'm waiting on the materials for. Looking into a second weapon, possibly brandish or flourish.

Snarby is tier1 not tier2

Tips and solutions

Hello, my Email is KeiganH@Gmail.com if you ever want to discuss something or ask me questions, and my in-game username on SK is Vandelore-Vanny, as it says above. ^^ If you would ever like to find me in-game and go do some boss runs...

A tip to get you started on understanding the game a little better is that everytime you enter and/or descend past the first Clockworks Terminal-Crossroads of Adventure zone, the Crowns and Heat Embers you will receive in deeper depths you enter are doubled, so are the drop rates of certain monster or LvL themed materials or rare pieces of gear that can only be dropped by monsters or Treasure Boxes. This resets each time you enter a sub-town. Sub-towns are little towns outside of Haven that are distributed accross the Clockworks, so far, there are only two; Moorcroft Manor and Emberlight. The reset changes after you, once again, enter a Terminal. So really, T1 depths that descend past the Terminal aren't so bad. And if you go solo, the monsters are easier to kill because their HP decreases and so do their defenses and attack damage, depending on how strong/weak you are and how many people are in your party. And one more little tip, no matter who the hell picks up the Heat Embers and Crowns (CR), they are evenly distributed throughout the party, so if you pick up some Heat or CR there is a chance you might not receive it yourself, this happens even if your the only one in your party (AKA. going solo).

I do NOT know if anyone here already said this, because I am ENTIRELY new to the Forums, but not the game itself, and I have not yet read everyone's posts/comments in this discussion page. I also just sent, or I THINK I just sent, a post, but since I can't see it or I can't see that it showed up on this page, I'm gonna risk typing this post, my second one. This post is basically saying everything I said on my first one that I'm afraid none of us can see because yet again, I am new to the Forums and I have yet to find out how to actually POST my posts on the Forums after I'm done typing them. So please help me here. :)

A solution to the whole being booted/kicked almost "IMMEDIATELY" out of parties you join thing might be because I read that you generate about 1 MB a second of connection and the connection is very poor in Lockdown, basically saying what you said, having only one bar. Darn that sucks. >.< I believe that is why people kick you because they don't want someone making their damn party laggy for the rest of the run, and a solution to that is going solo, and I am not trying to be mean, but I actually RECOMMEND you go solo. Because the more people that are in your party, the more laggy it will become. And like I said, it ain't too bad. :) Remember to meet me in-game sometime and I'll lend you, for FREE, an assload of CR and CE just to get you started on making some badass T3 gear. And if your not yet in a guild, go ahead and ask me for one. I'm using a computer right now that doesn't let me on SK but when I go back home after NEW YEARS!!!, I'll look up the name of my guild and ask the Guild Masters to invite you or if I can myself. Besides, I am a Veteran. :P And if I'm correct, I think I remember it now, I think the name of it is: Legendary Forever. o_O Anyways, your gear cannot be the answer to the being booted problem, T2 requires two star or three star gear to qualify and if you find a nice enough party they'd let you stay the whole run equipped with only 0 to one star gear. xD Believe me, it happens.

For a sidearm, pulsar line is usually recommended. It can be acquired for Romulus tokens. Wolver line armour is what most people seem to go with since it gives bonuses to swords.

The single greatest tip that really helped me not suck at the game after I started playing was to learn how to use your shield. Seriously, I find it to be the most critical piece of equipment I use, even more than my weapons or armour. You're gonna have to learn to put up the shield just long enough to deflect blows, then get back to running or attacking. Learn how enemies telegraph their moves, then run away or shield just before they can execute.

Start parties at the Jelly King gate. People are always joining parties there, and being leader will prevent you from being kicked. Since the wolver line offers pierce protection, all the better.

I never needed it (still don't, actually), but a guild will help. Or just a few decent friends. Do enough runs and you'll run into competent people. Make sure to befriend them.

Lockdown is a joke tbh. Everyone seems to play it like it's TDM when it's CP. I find games to be a tossup 99% of the time due to that. It certainly doesn't help when you need heart trinkets to be competitive. Don't bother until you're a demigod and have nothing else to do with the game.

Reasons people kick: You look

Reasons people kick:
You look inexperienced, you may ask too many questions, they might be on a guild/friend run and forgot to lock the party, solo mats run, and maybe others.
How not to get kicked (hopefully):
Basically just be polite and upgrade your armor so you look experienced, or make a lot of friends so you have people to join randomly.
Personally, I never kick anybody unless they are very rude/insulting, and if they mess with switches at Roarmulus. Other then that, I stay open to pretty much everyone. If the person asks a lot of questions, then I'll either answer or ignore them. If they die a lot, then more heat for everybody.

Don't play in PUGs

They're mostly filled with immature idiots who kick people for ridiculous reasons.

Either hone your skills on solo runs like I do, or find a kind guild/group of friends who're willing to play with you like an organized team.

On loading: a minute or so to load is very common, so I don't think it matters.
Like the others said, the people doing that are jerks, and please don't let them ruin your enjoyment.
If you're unconfortable soloing T2, farm Snarbolax. The cr payout is on par with what you'll get on most T2 content and the materials you'll get from there sell for good money, because they're needed for everything wolver so the demand is high. Do so until you're able to make your dusker set and a 3* shield, and this should be enough to do good around RJP and stop being insta-kicked while loading (if the leader does this purely on the looks).

Oh, and stop upgrading cobalt since you have wolver. If you want an alternative set, go for something with elemental or shadow defence.

Thanks for all the help guys,

Thanks for all the help guys, but I think I will be done with Spiral Knights.

There just isn't enough support for Oceania players and it is always 1 bar of connection when I play. (No, my internet doesn't suck.)
Tier 2 people are jerks. Met a lot of people that just ran through to the elevator with very little kills, sometimes I even end up with less crowns than I went in with (go 200 crown fee!).
Solo'ing is impossible with my lag, also the exp/crown to effort input isn't worth it. I have to avoid things in advance and this is virtually impossible when there are mass turrets or arena level.

I tried the guilds that invited me. The most people I ever saw online was like three and I played during the day as well as night just to see if anyone else was active, though I did meet some cool people that actually were online. (They never came online at the same time as me ever again :( )
