So, I got a sealed sword recently and im planning on upgrading it to a divine avenger. My question is what weapon should I use with it? Im going to get vog cub armor, but im fine with using handguns as well. I've been thinking about archeron and sentenza, but there are problems with both. With sentenza I would mostly kill gremlins and beasts, the problem is the fact that beasts like to dodge projectiles so I don't know if I could land a hit. Im kinda uncomftorable with faster swords as they have no knockback (how to dodge the counterattack after a combo?) . Also I haven't been looking too many piercing weapons (if theres a good one please tell me). I don't want to buy extra weapon slots, but I could buy alternatives for different levels. Thanks for your advice in advance :)
What to pair with DA?
If you're going Vog Cub, you should consider going full sword. I suggest you get a Barbarous Thorn Blade (or Final Flourish), piercing swords are great to have and are incredibly effective for both Gremlins and Beasts, the two enemy types DA won't do as well against.
Ok, thanks for your reply, I'll ger btb for sure, will have to think beetween archeron and umbra driver.
A lot of people underestimate it because of the existence of the Gran Faust, but it's actually the better shadow sword. Your charge attacks will make short work of Slimes, and the 3-swing combo destroys Gremlins.
Umbra Driver's okay, but you'd be better off with an elemental handgun to counter turrets.
If you have no weapon slot upgrades, I would advise the polaris or BTB. The polaris will give you that distance edge on gunpuppies and the like but no variety in attack type. BTB gives you that variety but no range. The best option may be the BTB simply due to the ease in which grems, beasts and the like are taken down. (Trojans included)
With all 4 weapon slots, its gets simpler to choose.
My setup with DA will almost always be BTB/Acheron, Polaris/Blitz, DA, Shivermist
Sentenza and Argent Peacemaker do split non-normal damage. If you compute the damage numbers, their damage is not very good. The developers are considering changing them. Until they are changed, do not pursue them.
Basically, you want a piercing weapon, an elemental weapon, and a shadow weapon --- even if you carry only two at a time. Your DA is a good elemental weapon. I strongly recommend piercing swords. The piercing guns (Callahan, Blitz Needle, Plague Needle) are a little hard to learn, due to decreased mobility, but you can learn them. Both shadow swords (Acheron and Gran Faust) are great. Both shadow guns (Umbra Driver and Biohazard) have their fans, but they are very different, so read up on them ahead of time.
