spiral knights not working properly please help
Before anyone says anything Yes I did read the forum tech support and followed every step and still face the same problem.
I was able to play the game on a different computer, but I'm having trouble with playing on my laptop. I'm using windows vista, I just got the latest java version, I have the Mobile Intel(R) 945 Express Chipset Family graphics card, and it is up to date. I have already tried to play using the play now on the site and download/install the game, but whenever the game opens a window for the log in screen it is pitch black. The background music plays, the mouse pointer sprite changes, and the mouse still recognizes the text boxes & the buttons on the log in screen. The problem is that nothing is visually displayed in the window other than a black screen. Any ideas on how to fix this?
sometimes it logs in but otherwise it stalls at the log in or character select.
Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game?
In Windows 7, if you used the downloadable client there should be able to uninstall from your Control Panel.
If you launch the game from the website (it sounds like you do) you need to go to C:\Users\*username*\AppData\LocalLow\spiral
There should be a uninstall.exe in that folder.
You should then double check that Java is updated and that old versions of Java have been removed, and then reinstall Spiral Knights. I recommend using the downloadable client, but if you want to continue launching from the website, that is up to you.
Are you playing on a wireless connection? If so, you should plug your ethernet cable directly into the computer when you download the client again, just to be sure you don't lose your connection midway through the download.
What do you mean by mouse is inaccurate? Can you give a more refined description of the issue?
Can you also post what graphics card you have, your video driver version, and your java version?
