valkyrie mail ns +pc -f
(valkyrie set)

3)
dragon scale shield eph +f
almirian crusader armor ns +c -f
almirian crusader helm ns +c -f
(no set here)

n - normal, p - piersing etc. +fcsp - resistance bonuses (fire, curse, shock, poison)

Hello everybody, i looked through all the armor sets here and chosen 3 best (IMHO). They give good defence and are pretty universal at all. But which of them must I choose? (I also want to use mainly Acheron/Levi and Storm Driver, so sword damage bonus will be useful)

Do not tell, how hard it is to get those items, I know it =)
Sorry for my bad english =)

What Dark Ritual?

So you're looking for an overall set, or just a set for FSC?

First things first, shields only give defense when they are up, and for example, if you used the Valkyrie set with the Dragon Scale shield, it would be 'meh' since you would either be shielding against something weak to the shield, or attacking against something string to you.

Overall, I suggest you go a Divine Veil/Skolver Coat split.

You get all of the defenses covered (Normal, Elemental, Shadow, and Piercing) covered, along with 4 statuses (Shock, Curse, Fire, and Freeze), and lastly have a med sword damage boost and universal Fiend damage med boost.

As for shields, I use a Barbarous Thorn Shield almost everywhere, but you may want to get an elemental shield (Owlite Line) for constructs and gremlins, shadow shield (Blackened Crest Line) for fiends and undead, and then a piercing shield (Bristling Buckler Line) for Beasts and Jellies.

agree

Everything that Chrono-Chaos said is right. I would add one fundamental concept, that he omitted. In the shallow parts of the Clockworks, monsters do mostly normal damage. As you go deeper into the Clockworks, monsters increasingly do their preferred damage type (e.g., piercing for slimes). But even on Stratum 6 there is still a lot of normal damage being dealt. So you always need normal armor. Really, your shield also needs normal protection.

*Your first set fails because it lacks normal protection on the armor. I would not recommend it for any situation.

*Your second set fails because the shield lacks normal protection. The armor itself is decent for a fiend or undead stratum. It's not great for FSC, because of the fire vulnerability.

*Your third set fails because the shield lacks normal protection. Apart from the armor being very difficult to get, it's not actually very good armor either. The Snarbolax armor is slightly easier to get, and far better. For shadow armor that's actually practical to obtain, consider Deadshot, Skelly, or Fallen/Valkyrie.

Chrono-Chaos has already pointed out the classic general-purpose armor set: Divine Veil with Skolver Coat gives you all four damage protections, four important status protections, and two offensive bonuses. It is awesome. Pair it with Barbarous Thorn Shield (for better offense) or Grey Owlite Shield (for better defense).

Thank you very much, I didn't

Thank you very much, I didn't know, that shields give defense only being upped. This explains a lot, now I see my errors. :)
