Want more people to spend CE on Shadow Lairs? Make those Shadow Lairs artifacts to do something, like unlock a secret level / boss or something.

Take a Look at the Game Files
If you truly want to know what is coming up in the game, take a look a the game files. It WILL spoil the surprise a bit but as far as my friends and I have seen, content is added to the Client before it gets officially patched and used. Actually, there are still extra content as it was taken out. We have seen such programs such as SpiralSpy take advantage of the game models as a viewer but it is possible to take the effort to see what files in the game itself changed to see what is coming up as the file names are made for easy development and readability instead of a weird way of encoding all the names.
Everything you find will be speculation and I can't spoil the fun here.
