The shadow key vendor should also buy them back from players for the same 1350 CE (or perhaps 1250) that they sell them for at discount.

Once upon a time i was encouraged that they would only be 1500 ce for a limited time, and i should therefore plan accordingly.

Bait and switch. The irony being they would only be sold for 1500 for a limited time, because they would in fact be sold cheaper than 1500.

New Years hugs for everyone.

While I do not feel your pain

While I do not feel your pain (as I avoided investing in Shadow Keys, wisely, apparently), I do understand it. It is unfair and unethical, the way they did Shadow Keys - making them very rare, then making them "temporarily" available for direct purchase, then adding them permanently with occasional sales. It would be nice if a refund of some kind was offered to players who heavily invested in them. Otherwise what it adds up to is an artificial energy sink.

@Pawn

I guess you're right, being sold at "1500 for a limited time" would usually mean that it would be more expensive in the future, but in this case it was just the opposite. OOO cannot be blamed for misleading words/phrasing after all :)

Oh OOO, where would we be

Oh OOO, where would we be without them. :) (I guess still with 100$ more in our pockets :P)

I haven't played recently, but that was pretty unfair of them to do that. Regardless, I guess you still got the run, and 200CE less (ish) isn't that bad, considering the run alone pays out 7kcr and a vana run does about the same.

Still, they shouldn't do more "sales" like this in the future

limited time by definition

limited time by definition does not mean there won't be a better sale immediately following. Take for example your typical store. They almost always have a weekend sale. Then, on certain holidays that move, if they land near the weekend, it'll go from a weekend sale to a holiday sale without going back, up to the normal price.

Honestly, if you buy something now and it goes down in price later, you are never deceived, robbed, or swindled. You got to own said item for an amount of time. If you don't value that time as much as the price drop, then it is your own fault for buying said item.
