Make gunners more powerful

I was originally into guns, but I switched to a neat sword-bomb hybrid after I realized that being a gunner is really lackluster in this game. I'm obviously not the first person to say this, but here are some of my thoughts. Knights, feel free to comment on which improvements should be implemented and which shouldn't. Gunners, if you have any more complaints, post them here.

- Add a shotgun. Maybe as a fourth Snarbolax weapon; a thorn shotgun would be a perfect counterpart for the Snarble Barb.

- PATCH THE EFFING ARGENT PEACEMAKER AND SENTENZA.

- Give the Catalyzer homing bullets within a specific distance. It makes actually using the gun's real function - tagging and detonating - much easier.

- Give the Alchemers extended mags, and make it so that the second shot in the Hail Driver's clip can't break the freeze inflicted by the first shot.

- Make the gunner sets start at 2*. People might complain and say that it makes the alchemy path longer, but it's actually a good thing as you can't ragecraft 3* items without blowing a ton of CE. 2* items can be crafted on mist alone.

- Make the gunner sets have positive status resistances. I think only one of them has a useful status resist, and that's Curse. What? A gunner with functional brain cells wouldn't use a Gran Faust as a supporting sword, and even if he did (say on the Ice Palace), he wouldn't have a good reason to use the GF's risky charge attack over his firearms.

- Give guns ASI instead of CTR as they heat up. Most guns have horrible charge attacks (the only good ones are on Blitz Needle and Biohazard).

- Remove some of the speed penalty when the knight fires a gun.

yeah

and add more new guns and make other guns stronger becuz with the current guns really most gunners just have. polaris, argent, blitz and alchemers. and thats all they can get really. so they should also add new lines of guns like in my idea for a new pulsars line. with ice catylyzer and with a fire pulsar (blaze burner) and stronger alchemers/ third bullet.

they could make new guns, this is my idea for the fire polaris

Thanks for the feedback guys

More suggestions off the top of my head:

- Give gunners a Shadow Lair reward set.

- Give gunners better health vampirism in Lockdown. Like, if you get a kill with a gun instead of a sword, the opponent's corpse drops 3 hearts instead of one.

- Buff gun damage, maybe by like 10%.

Keep this thread going, I want people to notice it.

I agree with you in some of

I agree with you in some of this suggestions, like the one that says that gunners armour should start at 2 stars and the other one that says that a monster should not unfreeze when hit by the same weapon that frozen it.

But remember that gunners are supposed to be good just at a distance and thats why they have negative status resistance, to make it difficult when a monster comes near to you. What i think they should do is to add a shield like the Swiftstrike Buckler but with Abilities for guns only.

I like shotgun and faster

I like shotgun and faster walking ideas. I'd be all like -POW TO YOUR FACE, RETRODES- and faster walking would help me out A LOT.
I dunno about the others though, I don't craft, and a bigger clip for alchemers seems a bit overpowered...

Last time i tried my callahan dealt less damage to vanna than mega magnus. And srsly make them hit enemy REALLY hard, like almost GF/DA hard because they are WAY harder to use even tho they are ranged. And give them a 100% knockback chance when you hit with them

Good idea; my thoughts

- Mega Magnus hitting harder than Callahan is a bug.

- Increase handgun damage. Definitely.

- Knockback isn't necessarily needed; if your first shot knocks the enemy out of the range of the gun's bullets, wouldn't it be kind of pointless?

they could add more guns like blaze burner or a fire catylizer and other guns like that
