Please cease work on this game, OOO. It's obvious the players have little respect for your work, and no respect for the changes you do on a regular basis. Look at this forum. We hate the programming language, he servers, the content, the hardness THEN the easiness of the monsters....

You can't win, OOO. There's no pleasing us. The huge majority of players are in the worst demographic to be 1) reasonable, 2) patient, and 3) able to enjoy anything.

Put a bullet in SK's brain and bury it in a shallow grave.

What?!?!

I don't get you! Half the reason why a lot of people don't have respect for them is the slowness to release new content! And that is a GOOD thing! If we were getting BIG updates every week then they would have no where to go! On top of that, the more time you take to make new content, the BETTER it is! IF you give them TIME you will be very pleased with their service!!!

Har!

Tengu cracks me up.

The median age demographic, when considering players of this game, is taxing on my nerves at times.

Still, I play this more than any other game. I love it.

If you think this forum is

If you think this forum is bad (which is kinda true), you haven't taken a look at the TF2 forums on the steam forums.

That place is worse.

I'm not really being

I'm not really being sarcastic.

It would truly please me to log on and see a "Sorry, jerks. Smell ya later" forever stuck at 99% in the zone-in load screen. I would hope that the forum would stay up for exactly 24hours after that to see the anguish and murderous rage that would bubble out of every corner of the community. I would like to think there's a few other players who'd join me and sing a jaunty tune while the hard drives grind our bytes into demagnetized plate.

this is the only game I'm playing. I've spent a big chunk of change on it; more than any console game. I have a gigantic pile of high-end gear. I would trade it all to watch one jerk player throw a clot and stroke out when they find out their T2 main and T1 alt are gone, baby gone.

My guild, the Skeleton Jellies (not affiliated with Skeleton Jelly) is now officially a Cradle death cult. We will all sing the praises of the glorious format, and I hope we'll be raised to the level of Mods when the end days come. We will sit with Eurydice, Cherub, et al in hidden skins of the Skylark while the datagenes of the Knights unravel. I will revel in the Steam-screams of lost chances at lame achievements, and I will delight in on-mic howls of the TF2 kids losing their item-selling platform.

When the final chunks of data spin inexorably towards the abyss, I will hold hands with my alts as the final bricks of Scarlet Hall derez under our feet and we plunge into the null, smiling under our stupid pink faceplates/behind our stupid pipes.

"and I will delight in on-mic howls of the TF2 kids losing their item-selling platform."

I would LOVE that.

In all favor in the last patch they gave in to the noobs who could not survive, since they blew 3000CE in revives, and begged for more in haven because they feared of losing even one more drop of it. If they left, Then The game would be a lot better.

To OOO,
don't listen to those CE whiners and such every new patch, but do realize when there's something wrong and learn from feedback. This last patch seems to have nerfed the enemies so much that the pros of the game have no challenge.
New monsters, New boss, and new puzzles is something we need.
No more nerfs, and no more accessories. New challenges is what we've been asking for the past months after the Shadow Lairs.

Thats 990 hours and about 60$ invested in the game so far. Don't make us wait anymore.

No one would care. Spiral Knights is far from the only method of traders making profit.

"I will revel in the Steam-screams of lost chances at lame achievements"

Ha. Is that supposed to be a joke?

...You know the forums are a TINY vocal minority of the playerbase, right? You also know that most people go to forums and such to complain, but never to complement, right? People make their displeasure heard, but their approval less so. Sure you see threads now and again praising OOO, but those are rare.

I will say that in my time of the clockworks, most of the players I talk to seem to like the changes that have been done, but feel they overreached. Frankly, zombies/retrodes shouldn't have been slowed down; that was pointless. Preventing their swiveling brings them in line with the rest of their attacks (they don't swivel to breathe miasma/leap/fire lasers after all). Reigning in their attack range makes sense from a visual perspective; you don't want to be hit when the monster visually whiffed.

Overall, people like what OOO is doing. It'll just never be apparent.

Three Reasons Creators Should Never Read Their Forums

Nearly every large community

Nearly every large community of players is terrible like this. If every game killed itself over its forums, we really wouldn't have any games left. The complaints are legitimate, however, as number 2 in Eldibs's link says:

"Often, there are issues where intelligent people can come to opposite conclusions, and you can read thousands of furious posts on either side of the issue without getting an inch closer to an actual decision."

Does that mean that we shouldn't talk about things we don't like? I think people arguing both sides of an issue is generally cause to indicate that something is acceptable.

The real problem is that OOO doesn't seem to read its forums at all. There are a lot of good solutions available to please both sides. There are a lot of things everyone agrees on that they won't fix. Like the other thread about how gunners get inferior equipment; I have yet to see a single person argue that gunners are overpowered, which means they decidedly are not, and yet OOO doesn't change it? Should I start filing bug reports about how Shadowsun's stats must be a mistake?

The main reason people complain about everything OOO does is because they aren't answering any of our requests. Every change they've made to this game since I started has been completely unexpected. If they don't give us what we want, we're going to find more flaws in the things they do give us. I'm willing to be patient and all, but the devs are obviously working on things. Just not the things I want them to be working on.

I actually think a good number of their patches are for the most part bug fixes that people send bug reports in about. Yeah, you're right about the big changes being unexpected, but at the same time, most people seem happy about the T2 bosses, and those weren't being clamored for (at least in the forms they turned out to be in) on the forums. We have many good ideas in the forums, but WAY more bad ones I think, and the devs are doing their best to get stuff done. Since I joined at the end of August, I've seen a lot of positive change, and I look forward to more, and I echo the sentiment that nerfind the current monsters would open the way to REALLY hard stuff in t4. Here's hoping!

@Tengu

I can sympathize with you, Tengu, but I think you're over-reacting a bit.
See, there's this thing called the "Vocal Minority". It's where there's a small part of the fanbase that does a lot of complaining and generally makes the rest of the fanbase look bad. They're the reason that we get three pages of complaint topics every time OOO adds another Snipe to the Haven Bazaar.

If you don't like the complainers, do yourself a favor and stay off of the forums. I find that players tend to not complain when they're actually playing the game.
