I'm planning to go to the Shadow Lair eventually, but I need shadow resistant armor. I'm wondering what to make. I use swords for the most part so I was thinking of doing split Valkyrie/Fallen so I could get the ASI low. But what do you think?

It's pretty good for shadow snarbolax since it has poison and shadow resists,whithout drawbacks, but you may want some piercing resist for the wolvers (radiant silvermail?). If you are skilled enough and like swords a piece skolver could work too, but beware of shadow turrets.

Radiant silvermail, I like it. Now I just have to figure out the helmet situation. I might just stick with the Grey Feather Cowl.

See the wiki page on Shadow Lair. You want normal, piercing, shadow, and poison armor. Grey Feather Cowl gives you a little normal, but is otherwise worthless for Shadow Gloaming Wildwoods.
Shadow resistant armor for FSC? If so I would just look into getting the crown of the Fallen and calling it good - otherwise Divine set is not too shabby for FSC because zombs deal shadow and vana is heavy elementa, all while it has curse and fire resistance.
Though shadow might not matter because of new slower nerfed zombies. I would just stick with ele/fire or whatever ele you have.
That is if you are talking about FSC
