Title.
Most hipster weapons?
I meant the first one. I want to be unique.
Before they went mainstream... it would have to be the brandish line.
Most likely brandish. But not acheron. people have been praising it over GF for awhile now.
I know a really good gunslinger who uses the Supernova as a protest against Polaris Spammers
I have a hipster weapon... but you probably have never heard of it. (So what is the point of telling?)
For guns, Supernova is the clear winner. Pretty useful for its knockback, but not many people use it. Plague Needle and Valiance are more common but still not generally used by many at the high level. Neutralizer and Iron Slug are probably in the "just bad" category. Sentenza's not all too common either.
>Wrench wand and cautery sword
Yeah, this.
Pretty much any item that doesn't have upgrades or only one upgrade. Those weapons are completely unused and mostly useless.
edit: second time I've double posted, and I don't know why.
Sword: Wild hunting blade
Gun: Sentenza
Bomb: Stagger Storm
Armor: Ironmight Plate Mail
Helm: Ironmight Plate helm
Shield: Heater Shield
what the heck is a "hipster weapon"??
Batabii, hipsters like using unpopular things, so that they can brag about having exotic, sophisticated tastes. Somehow this thread has degenerated into a discussion of things that are simply bad. Hipsters don't like bad things. This thread would be better if it focused on GOOD BUT UNPOPULAR items. Ones that come to mind:
* Brandishes (before this update)
* Furious Flamberge and Fearless Rigadoon (compared to FF and BTB)
* Stagger Storm and Venom Veiler (compared to Ash, Voltaic, Shivermist)
* elemental alchemers (since Polaris)?
* Umbra Driver (since Biohazard)?
* Callahan?
I know that these guns are popular among gunners. I include them here because it seems that many sworders have never heard of them, and hence they are not very popular.
Ah. Well I have Winmillion, Callahan, RSS, and Electron Bomb, if those count, and I always prefered Nova Driver to the other drivers...

But because this thread has no particular focus, and happened to focus around swords, that's not a totally valid argument. :]
* I think enough people use swords in the Brandish line, generally as an alternative to DA for people who don't roll that way.
* Fair.
* I've never seen anyone with Stagger Storm, though I'd really like to...
* If we're talking about sidearms for swordies, you're right. Among gunners, the Drivers are well-used. [Personally, I find them a more party-friendly gun, and the bounce is such a nice utility]
* I'm on the Umbra side of the Biohazard-Umbra Driver argument, but I'd like to point out that it's a more or less even split.
* Callahan is better than the other piercing-damage guns for general usage.
----
Looking at this from a "I used it before it was cool" standpoint, I believe that the true SK hipsters would be the original players, or whoever was first to do Vog with DA, GF, BTB, and Levi.
Me: "I know that these guns are popular among gunners. I include them here because it seems that many sworders have never heard of them, and hence they are not very popular."
You: "If we're talking about sidearms for swordies, you're right. Among gunners, the Drivers are well-used."
So I'm pretty sure that you agree with me on the guns. Gunners (a small percentage of the population) use them; other people don't, even though maybe they should. Your other points are reasonable. By the way, I saw Stagger Storm in action for the first time a few days ago. Contrary to its reputation, it seemed quite useful indeed.
Fearless rigadoon..........
just
just Fearless rigadoon
and iron slug noone DARES touch that weapon........
The fact is most guns are pretty pointless so far. OOO really needs to give them more buffs and variety. There's only five major kinds of guns right now:
Alchemer (reflects)
Magnus (the troika of guns)
Needle (the striker of guns)
Catalyzer (the bomb of guns)
Pulsar (the brandish of guns?)
And most of them just hit straightforward. The roar module guns are the only ones that have a unique on-hit effect on the enemy itself.
definitely Triglav and sandaruska, probably because of the insane amount of time it takes to acquire these almighty blades of legend.ya dont see them very often, actually ive never seen anybody with them.
thats why ive made it my goal to get the triglav!(possibly the sandaruska also)

I'd recommend getting sudaruska because triglav freeze is actually a bad thing to get, you need that knockback so the enemy cant kill you while recovering. Freeze locks them in place perfect for hitting you immediately. Also sudaruska recipe can bet acquired from basil and does not require pointless lockdown farming
if you're talking about 5* hipster weapons. Sudaruska is very rarely seen
FYI, so we're all clear:
"Hipsters are a subculture of men and women typically in their 20's and 30's that value independent thinking, counter-culture, progressive politics, an appreciation of art and indie-rock, creativity, intelligence, and witty banter....Although hipsters are technically conformists within their own subculture, in comparison to the much larger mainstream mass, they are pioneers and leaders of the latest cultural trends and ideals. For example, the surge of jeans made to look old and worn (i.e. "distressed"), that have become prevalent at stores such as The Gap, American Eagle, Abercrombie and Fitch, and Hollister, were originally paraded by hipsters who shopped in thrift stores years before such clothing items were mass produced and sold to the mainstream consumer."
TL;DR: Hipsters are pioneers of the latest ideals.
I suppose my list is rapidly becoming a list of the useless/hopeless weapons in SK. That's okay, I prefer a challenge.
So bump for more suggestions, and I'd prefer suggestions that extend through to 5*.
So far I have:
Heater Shield
Ironmight Full
WHB
Iron Slug
Neutralizer
Triglav
Irontech.
I'm glad to see my sudaruska is so rare!
Also why don't I see the volcanic pepperbox anywhere here?
I believe you should equip a Chaos Cowl and Chaos Cloak. That's a low damage bonus that nobody goes for and it works well with multiple types of weapons. Substandard normal defense will have you taking more of a beating than usual from just about everything, and I mean there's status effects and all but they're just status effects, who cares?
Swords:
Triglav
Sudaruska
Furious Flamberge
Fearless Rigadoon
Wild Hunting Blade
Fang of Vog (kinda)
Guns:
Iron Slug
Sentenza
Neutralizer
Hail Driver
Volcanic Pepperbox
Bombs:
Stagger Storm
Venom Veiler
Irontech Destroyer
Big Angry Bomb
Helm:
Shadowsun Stetson
Royal Jelly Crown
Ironmight Plate Helm
Chaos Cowl
Bombastic Demo Helm
Ancient Plate Helm
Dragon Scale Helm
Armor:
Shadowsun Slicker
Royal Jelly Mail
Ironmight Plate Mail
Dragon Scale Mail
Chaos Cloak
Bombastic Demo Suit
Ancient Plate Mail
Shield:
Heater Shield
Dragon Scale Shield
Royal Jelly Shield
Omega Shell(kinda)
every bomb except nitro, aoa, vt, sb, briar barrage thingy and rss (might have forgotten something)
Triglav/sudaruska/callahan/neutralizer? Or do you mean "before" they went mainstream? I guess anyone who came up with using GF/DA/BTB/FF
