Just a quick wee kudos thread really~
When I first installed the game during summer, it was on my gf's old machine which was pretty crap, so had the gfx set to low. Played on that for some time, never changed them. Always thought the graphics and design/art of the game looked fantastic, was impressed plenty by it.
Stopped playing for a couple months over college, got my laptop and installed it on steam; all the stuff was defaulted to low and I never really remembered/bothered to change it, and remained happy.
Just now, while I was playin' about with some options I remembered, and changed all the settings to high, knowing my laptop would handle them fine and I have to say as much as I liked the look of the game before, the difference is phenomenal!
Not just things looking sharper and smoother, just all those wee extra touches; shadows and glow effects under bullets and projectiles; my RSS bombs look amazing and the parallaxing stands out so much more.
Not expecting anythin' in specific from this thread, just had to say how impressed I was that graphics I liked to begin with could get so much better, when the subject is a simple and basic isometric game; beautiful work! :)
Jim Dale does not think this is something to be proud of.
