(Name), a great player on the servers of Spiral Knights, He might look cool and mighty at first sight, but on the inside he is a weak guy, a dishonest THIEF...

I stood there just outside the Auction House, /yelling my offers to buy CE,
i was told to get 200ce for my price, but this guy (Name) only gave me 20ce... even though i payed for 200ce i got motherf***in 20ce!
THEN after that i /told him, and begged for him to give back my crowns, first he lied about that he didnt even make the trade, he told me it was his brother who made it... and later he finally proffessed his crime. He told me it was "my fault i pressed confirm"... well what the f***... i was told to get 200ce not 20 for my price so why would i EVEN SUSPECT someone to do such a rude thing to (bad language removed) steal money from other just like that?!?

Now please make this (bad language removed) (Name) SUFFER for his actions...

AlsoI'm just gonna throw out that you didn't even tell us the amount of cr you said you were buying CE with.For all we know you could have said something like "WTB 200ce for 2000cr" when the price of Crystal Energy is 6,300 cr (Which is a low price, so idk why people dont want to buy it at that. And this has happened so many times now that people are supposed to always look over before hitting confirm, good to see they haven't learned.

Exccessive swearing and naming and shaming on the forums doesn't support you cause and can get you in trouble with the GMs, so watch it.
You broke 2 Forums rules, so don't get mad if you end up banned because you didn't use the report feature in game.

And i still dont understand this guy (Name)... why cannotyou just trade back and both be happy? you know that what you did was really wrong? now if you know i made a mistake then why wouldn't you just be kind enough to trade back? i just dont get it? it seems you got no love in your life... no friends etc, so that you MUST be rude to others in order to feel good... now does this "stealing" make you feel good? then you are a sick person!

Also, report function doesn't support that people change trade "agreements"

Here's to hoping you won't get scammed again.
In reality, though, it's your responsibility to make sure you don't get scammed. If you say you didn't notice, you obviously weren't paying enough attention and you can't really blame anyone else for that. Sure, they may have done something dishonourable and unlawful, but the best course of action is to report it and leave the rest to the Game Masters. Hopefully they will bring the culprit to justice.
The worst course of action is to announce the scam on the forums. This forum doesn't allow naming & shaming, so do yourself a favour and remove the subject's name before it is spotted by a developer and end up causing yourself further misfortune.

In the end, there are always mischievous people who take pleasure in deceiving and abusing others. Your best bet is to keep your distance from these kinds of people. So long!

@Neboisha, it's partly Bajsrando's fault, but you should give him his money back anyway (minus the value of 20 CE). It's pretty clear now what he wanted and you should do the nice thing.

@Bajsrando, you have too much faith in humanity to assume that people aren't going to try to rip you off. Always check before you do a trade to make sure. I'm guilty of doing the same thing at one point, and I was lucky enough to get my stuff post-trade.

Also, trading unfairly is sort of a gray area and could be considered breaking the rules of the game. I'm not sure how exactly this is enforced, but I've heard that it is.

Just cause he hit confirmed doesn't mean that gives you the right to get away with it.

That would be like me ordering a Pizza, and when the delivery guy hands me the pizza and I pay him that transaction is done. So if I open the pizza after he left and find only 2 slices that means it was my fault and I should learn a lesson from it.

Doing the right thing shouldn't be done just because you have to but should be done cause that is the way you hope others treat you. Otherwise you lose your civility and humanity.

Vtmoon, technically business's are regulated by gov't laws and such. And those have real life consequences. In a game such as spiral knights, it only depends on how serious one wishes to take ethical values.

Since we are using real life comparisons, would this not be akin to not reading a contract fully and just signing it? Sure, there's an ethical part to everything, but is there a law stating that actions and trades must be equally fair, to ensure ethics aren't stepped on? It's been awhile since I took law class, so what that might be one of the things i've forgotten.

We could throw examples everywhere, arguing how "right" a poor player is in scamming a rich player of his unused money, or a poor player being made to pay 10k per 100ce. Neither is ethical, but no one would think to punish the poor player in the first situation.

You know, I seem to recall [blanked] and [blanked] (they're either brothers or alts) were both kind of jerks- there was a small forum scuffle involving one of them not too long ago about the exact same thing. I seem to recall he even admitted to be an "ex-scammer". Since the ToS clearly prohibits naming and shaming I've omitted their names, but I think we all know who I'm talking about. Moral of the story, don't be too trusting, and don't name-and-shame on the forums. The "scammer" technically did nothing wrong in the sense that both of you clicked Confirm and he did nothing to misrepresent his wares, but it is common decency to return the money if a mistake was made (which in this case, it was).

To the OP, sorry for your loss, but that's why you have to be careful. To the dirtbag who kept the money, you are as low as it gets in Spiral Knights. I can only hope that you are a spoiled brat who gets some morals stamped into you in the next 10 years, else there's no helping you.

Wait 2 days then undo the trade and ban the supposed "bad person(s)" during that time.

My concern wasn't about the individual doing wrong (there will always be people who are out to screw others for one reason or another) but rather everyone around saying it's okay and blaming the victim for the confirmation. That was the response I posted I know it's the Internet been working on it and dealing with it for about 20 years now (yes am old), just cause something is wrong and everyone is okay with it doesn't mean you as a person have to accept that and not aim to be and do better.

It is a game and only pixels but there is a human being behind it like I said, treat others the same way you wanna be treated. Pretty sure most would've cried foul too if it happened to them.

FOURTH: So you're full 5*. Whoop-de-dee-doo. 10K isn't much at all to you any more? THEN GIVE IT BACK. If it means so little to you, then give it back to someone to whom it means a WHOLE TON TO.

A good lesson!? Exactly HOW much brainrot have you incurred? That's akin to stealing from a shop and when the shopkeeper calls you back to pay for it, you roll your eyes and say:

@others: Yeah, this should be expected, part of life even, to be cheated and stuff, but that doesn't, and will NEVER make it right. I don't care WHEN it happens, WHERE it happens, or WHO it happens too, if amendments can be made, they SHOULD be made. ESPECIALLY when the accused is found guilty of the accused crime.

Granted, I've had a few run-ins with this sort of thing, where one party could have EASILY gotten away with the deal, but didn't.

I wanted to buy like 7ce. I was pretty desperate for it, so I asked around. A guy offered it to me at a higher than average price, and i accepted the terms, given my circumstances.
However, he felt bad that he was cheating me somewhat, and despite my protests that I really didn't mind the extra fee, he gave me the 7ce free.

Another time, I needed to borrow 800cr for a recipe. I PMed a friend to lend me 800cr, and soon enough, the mail arrived.
The mail contained 800CE. To say I was surprised would be understating it to a massive extent. However, I informed him of his mistake, and we rectified it.
I even tried to pay him interest on his 800cr, but he refused outright.

THAT is how GOOD people deal with situations like these. At the ABSOLUTE LEAST, you should admit you're wrong and accept your ban with self-contemplative grace. (making up terms here)

OR, if you're better than that, attempt to make amends by giving the guy back the cr due to him while keeping the payment you were supposed to originally.

You did NEITHER, so I say you DESERVE your ban, TOTALLY.

(Note: You got me in a VERY bad mood, the whether here is undesirable, and reading your cocky post reminds me too much of 'he-who-shall-not-be-named and his -The GMs can't touch me! -I did nothing wrong! -Meanies!)

You completed the trade, then went the equivalent of idle, so it's not like he COULD have asked you to give his money back nicely if he WANTED to.

Like I said earlier, I don't CARE if he put in the amount seemingly knowingly. As another member of the Spiral knights community, you should have informed him of his overpricing and checked to make sure that was what he INTENDED.

Of his free will? I already gave a scenario earlier of a similar thing. The guy could have EASILY and TOTALLY gotten away with his overpricing, but he decided it wasn't worth it, and didn't go through with it.

And DUH, people tend to have that sort of reaction when they realised they were scammed, intentionally or not. YOU should have taken the first step and tried to resolve this earlier. It's a simple enough matter:

Oh hey guy, sorry, but I misunderstood your trading terms and gave you too little for your price, please accept my sincere apologies? Also, can we discuss a more civil way to resolve this matter?

The most interesting part is that most of us would have never known who the thief was if you hadn't decided to post in this topic Neboisha/Nekinovi as due to the no "name and shame" policy of the forums, the name in the OP was removed. He came in and admitted to it, naming himself.

And as Mohander so kindly linked, he has a previous history of doing this. I think I shall be telling my guild to avoid any trades with Neboisha/Nekinovi unless they feel like getting scammed.

A) The guy BUYING ce should be more careful and not pressing confirm so soon, but he was prolly expecting the guy selling to put 200ce

TRADING TERMS: Terms of trade. Agreed price to purchase specific item. In a trade where you want to buy 3 monster bones for 250cr, the terms of trade would be '3 monster bones' for '250cr'. I thought it'd be pretty self explanatory.
