Is the blackhawk/Sentenza weak against Vanduke.
Im don't use guns in FSC except on Vanduke
So would it be ok for the final battle.

Thanks for the advice so far, but I really dont want to start another gun line.. and I have heard that the blitz / plague needles are useless ohtside of FSC.
This is my main reason for not wanting the needle lines.
Would the blackhawk be normal effective against vanduke though( I just got one with ctr low and would be using it for wolvers)
In phase 5, yes. Vanaduke is immune to shadow damage in the final phase.
Nope. Monsters resist more damage than they take from a source they are weak to.
Should I get the AP
or start on the needle line.
Blitz or plague? Any personal experience would help
I did know that the monsters resistances are stronger than their weaknesses.
Just wanted to know whether Vana was resistant to shadow so thanks nicoya for that
OK, several considerations.
First, if your party is using a Shivermist strategy, plinking away with a rapid-fire weapon like the Sentenza will unfreeze him too much. If you have a choice between attacking with the Sentenza or standing around doing nothing, your team is probably better off with you doing nothing in this situation.
Secondly, the Wiki says that Vanaduke is immune to shadow damage in his final phase (I haven't personally confirmed). Assuming that's accurate, he'll still be weak against the piercing 50%, but the similar Argent Peacemaker will probably do at least 50% more damage to Vanaduke during the final phase, and will also be considerably better against his minions. And since the last phase is both the hardest, and the only phase where swords are really not at all viable, that's a pretty big deal. Also, if OOO follows through on their threat to make the Sentenza pure shadow, it will then be useless against Vanaduke's final phase.
If you already have a Sentenza (or plan to get one regardless, for some other purpose), and your party isn't using a Shivermist, then I'd say it's better than nothing. But it's not going to allow you to pull your weight next to players who have more appropriate equipment; you will be relegated to a support role.
It sounds like you're concerned about wasting your Blackhawk, and not having a gun for wolvers. You should keep in mind that the final upgrade from 4 to 5 stars represents about 2/3 of the total cost of crafting a weapon from scratch, so stopping now will still save you a LOT of money compared to crafting the Sentenza and then deciding you need another gun anyway. A full-piercing gun like the Blitz Needle or Callahan will deal higher damage to wolvers as well as to Vanaduke (and either would be much more Shivermist-friendly). You could probably buy an Autogun or Magnus with CTR low relatively cheaply (compared to the total cost of crafting a 5* weapon) if you wanted.
Blitz Needle takes some practice to use, but it's actually very effective against Wolvers, Gremlins, Trojans, and even Devilites. One or two charge attacks will typically wipe out a group of mobs before they can even begin to do anything. Just make sure you aim properly and sidestep their attacks.
Seriously, don't bring it down. Although piercing is strong against Fiends such as Trojans and shadow is strong against Oilers, the resistance of each of these to the other damage type considerably outweighs the super-effective damage bonus, not to mention all the other undead in there that are neutral to piercing and resistant to shadow.
You probably already knew this, hence that you said that you don't use guns except on Vanaduke.
However, it would still be a waste of a good slot - you'd be far better off mastering a Blitz Needle instead, which can bring down Trojans if you've got the hang of it, as well as making Vana much easier to take down. If you don't like the idea of being stuck in place whilst firing, pack the Argent Peacemaker instead. Just not Sentenza.
