The achievement fixes are quite welcome, as is the gun puppy fix.

I'm curious about the statue exploit fix though, I'd never heard of anything of the sort. I know you could pass statues through gates, but there never seemed to be much point to it other than being silly. Seems an odd thing to fix while leaving the fountain glitch unpatched.

Yeah I love doing the statue

Yeah I love doing the statue through gate thing just for the lulz. Practical use of it is next to zero. I will be sad if they took my lulz away.

The only other thing you can do with statues in FSC is block wheels, so if not the gates thing then I don't know what.

Huh, I usually use the totems

Huh, I usually use the totems to block the side-wheels on the 6-statue room in Blackstone Bridge. Gets them far enough out of the way that I can kill the zombies, and saves me from the occasional wheel to the face when I'm not paying enough attention. I suppose it's not technically in keeping with the spirit of the room, but then neither is polaris-shocking the zombies in the rocket puppy room.

Don't know about any glitch

Don't know about any glitch other than the half-cheaty of using statues to block the 6 wheels, but like you Nicoya, I use the totems anyways.

I'm mainly just glad they fixed the puppies. Trying to bomb them as they were was possibly the worst experience in my life!

weighted statue exploits

The release notes say "weighted statue exploits". I take this to mean the statues that are designed to weigh down plates, rather than the totems that revive zombies.

Darkbrady's picture

Aye but..what exploits are

Aye but..what exploits are there? Only ones I can think of is using the weighted statues to block the wheels in the Bridge floor...and it's totems that usually get used for that.

Can only imagine there's some other kind of exploit I've not noticed and if that's the case then...well, no difference to me! :D

I don't know any exploit

I don't know any exploit either. But I NEVER block the wheels with them. Not only do totems get in the way of killing slags, but the wheels can help you crush them. Besides, they fire in straght lines at regular intervals. If you're getting blindsided that much, you should pay more attention.

I've never known totems to hold down switches. And I tried.

Passing through the gate

Passing through the gate still appears to work. I'm at a loss as to what they changed.

Boo, I was so excited to see something posted in Announcement, but Nick dashed my dreams of new bosses with this update.

Bug fixes are always nice, but I have no clue as to what this statue exploit is, either. Though there was one time were a teammate used a statue to block a wheel, and somehow got it stuck behind the shield...

so slow...

Things you can do before a T3 Retrode hits you with a melee attack (in order):

1. Accidentally pick up a vase beside it

2. Throw vase at said retrode

3. Put shield up

4. Move away without shield getting hit

No revision to the nerfs makes me a sad Thimol.

not surprised tbh; It has

not surprised tbh; It has only been a week (less, I think?) revisions like that tend to take a couple of weeks for MMOs devs to implement unless there's a seriously massive outburst from the entire community. This patch has made everyone QQ and complain and probably done something to sway them to want to redo it, but everyone's kept playing and such so it won't be immediate.

For an immediate fix, it'd need to have been somethin' that had every post on every forum board ragin' over it and half the playerbase quit overnight.

In my experience of MMOs, at least.

All right, now I know.

But then, If it took a huge majority to sway the devs, then I'd lose all hope, for a huge chunk of the playerbase insists on being mouth-breathers.

No-Thanks
Zelda

im surprised how many bugs there are. some random person in ironclaw munitions factory wanted to bug through the shock pads(voluntarily abandoning more crown drops..) with some vials or something i didnt see it just read the chats

really weird ppl

Aww the puppies

And I was just getting used to dodging between the bullets due to the wierd mechanics they had. Oh well, back to the usual.

So has anyone figured out

So has anyone figured out what exploit was acutally patched?

But then, If it took a huge majority to sway the devs, then I'd lose all hope, for a huge chunk of the playerbase insists on being mouth-breathers.

Yes I too believe that anyone that disagrees with my unarguably correct opinion is indeed a disgusting human being deserving of insults.

oO

Thanks for correcting the gunpuppy bug; it really made gunpuppy bombing next to impossible.

+1 on the statue exploits; I wasn't aware of any.

Just because of my own

Just because of my own curiosity, I would like to know what this statue exploit was. So far, nobody seems to know. Given how much we enjoy our bugs and exploits here, and with the high number of FSC farmers out there, I'm amused that everyone is clueless regarding whatever it was that was patched.

The only guess I've heard so far was from a guildmate who offered this: If you die on a gate switch (that normally requires a statue), the gate stays open. If there is a party button on the other side of that gate then the party can bypass putting the statue on the switch and you will appear along with them once the party button is triggered.

Note that I can't think of any time that would be advantageous, nor would that be specific to FSC.

they didn't "nerf" retrodes

they didn't "nerf" retrodes and zombies, they FIXED a loooong-standing problem with their hitboxes. They hit much further than their actual models swung.

yes, the fixed the bug with

yes, the fixed the bug with the unrealistic damage zone, but they did "nerf" the retrodes and zombies by slowing them down. Read the release notes from the previous update.

To Quote. "Retrode and zombie melee attack has been slowed down and damage area decreased"

The weighted statue exploit

The weighted statue exploit fix is as follows:

If (on D27, dunno bout other floors or earlier on D27) you carry statues through the gates and set them down in the final room with the goal of pinning trojans, the statue warps back out, effectively preventing you from carrying the statue there.

Good call Kalaina. I've seen

Good call Kalaina. I've seen one person do that. I didn't think of it as an exploit. I thought of it as being resourceful and a bit time consuming. Kind of like pill dragging in arenas. The resources are there and if you want to take the time to do it you can but 99% of the time it was a waste of time.

So they patched time-inefficient use of resources, whoopee.

My guildie says a lot of new

My guildie says a lot of new players will do that a lot, so I'm kinda indifferent about it. On the one hand, no more lulz. On the other hand, no more waiting for overly timid and patient newbies to make complex statue traps for trojans because they saw other overly timid and patient newbies do it in earlier runs.

Huh, never seen anyone do

Huh, never seen anyone do that. Worst I've had to deal with is people making the noob-wall with the totems in the wolver room.

Most definitely have taught

Most definitely have taught that trick to many a newb. Though when I'm with friends there really is no need for it - and it takes forever.

I've seen the trojan trap

I've seen the trojan trap done with totems, but never with weighted statues. The totem trap has fallen out of favor since wallhacking was eliminated, though, since you can't set it up beforehand.

Confirming what Kala said for other floors; http://steamcommunity.com/id/SpectralColours/screenshot/596959394040253816 if you put the statue down anywhere past the gate on D26 it will teleport back to the original spawn point.

Eh...so what was the use of

Eh...so what was the use of carrying the statues over, exactly? And how was it done? Did someone have to stay behind and hold down a switch, then die/reappear later?

Stavrosg's picture
Stavrosg
explained

Someone had to stay behind pressing the switch, then commit suicide in one of the many traps of the level.
Then, with 3 statues, you could make a trojan trap at the last room in depth 27, where a certain statue arragement would trap the 2 trojans that spawned at the last wave, making significantly easier to clean that last wave.

It didn't really matter in normal FSC, a couple of blitz needles and a shivermist, and those trojans are dead seconds after spawning, but I guess it gave UFSC delvers a bit more space there.

Notbob's picture
Notbob
Hrm. Alright then. At any

Hrm. Alright then.

At any rate, I always saw the trojan trap done with totems, not statues, as I mentioned before. *shrug*

Uh, duh. Took you long enough to get the memo. Gosh, it's not as if some opinions carry more weight than others, or that everyone's opinions are worth hearing, because everyone certainly tries their damnedest to make educated opinions!
