Does anyone ever run anything other than Vana anymore? I know its a pretty dumb idea but i wish the recipes were randomised every week or so, that way autosell wouldn't rig the gates so much. I also find the gates opening in middle of night for europeans a little bit unfair, why not speed up or slow down the gates opening a little? Add or substract 12 hours, i'm sure it wouldn't hurt anyone if it was like that and everyone could have actually try to affect gate constructing (because as we all know, everything is anyway decided at the last minutes-seconds pre-new gate).

I'm not particularly good at Vana, so most cases I do non boss runs in tier 3. I'm pretty sure autosell is not entirely at fault for poison and shock gates. Some users save up minerals just to mess with people.

I actually run Vana surprisingly little. I do whatever sounds fun, although at the moment I am doing the Copper Pawn Strata 6 arena run if I want profits.

I like the T3 poison stages! I use dragon scale armor, yet it seems the poison doesnt do much to me. I dont know why people say dragon scale is bad. It works great. I guess they are bad at fighting.

Poison isn't for damage. Its most harmful effect is the damage reduction.

However I avoid shock gates at all cost; they're hard enough to deal with on T3, but as a bomber, they just make my life impossible. Poison, however... :D

When it runs out, I'm hoping that they'll have introduced a better package with the pass, otherwise my playtime'll die down to ME a day, and that's hardly any fun.

You make enough CR to buy CE and still have some CR left over. So, you might not make as much CR per hour as you did before, but using CE will leave you with the same amount of CR as using 100ME so in the end you can play as long as you like. If you want to play more, then play more.

Definitely spoilt by the pass, no one's saying that.
However, for those of us not with everything maxed yet, building everything up to be able to do all the end-game stuff takes a hell of a long time to craft alone, much less heat up to +10 once it's 5*. The elevator pass isn't just about playing as much as you want, it's about making the extra bit of cash so you can actually advance without coming out of a run only making 1/2cr profit. It lets us take advantage of the holiday period, since when back at college/work etc, things will slow down /even more/.
It also allows doing gates that aren't actually profitable, just for fun. Ever done a non-JK T2 gate? They do not pay for themselves. However, they give nice heat still and break up the monotony of doing the same 8 levels again and again; it lets you do things that you otherwise can't afford to do. Doing a run that gives less heat and costs more than it makes you purely for the sake of "it's breaking up the grind" while you have stuff to heat up and crowns to be saving, is a completely stupid idea.
And since those levels are what keeps the game fun and interesting, rather than just "doing the eaxct same thing over and over and over again" I think the elevator pass comes down to more than just "I can play whenever I want". It actually keeps the game fresher and interesting; it makes me /want/ to play more, is the point. Ik I can play as much as I want when I'm making 1k cr per run, but I don't actually want to play that much when 4/5 gates aren't a viable option, and doing T1 runs for funsies is just a complete waste of money.

I do have an elevator pass
I do have an elevator pass that ends shortly, and I don't have everything heated. I have one set of 5* armor, one 5* sword, one 5* bomb, and one 5* shield. I got the pass because I had a bunch of time off from work over Christmas/New Year.
As for other gates, just do gates with arenas in the second half and they have a similar payout as a boss gate without arenas. Even then, a single good material pickup in T3 can lead to a nice 4k cr bonus. Also, before I had the pass I did a lot of Roarmulous Twins runs if they had an arena to start off (sometimes even if they didn't). I'll still do non-boss runs if they have arenas I can hit. Sure, you can't go there quite as often, but it works. There is absolutely no reason to do T1 once you have 4/5* equipment.
Yea, the elevator pass is pretty awesome, but honestly if I still wanted to play more than ME a day, there is nothing stopping me from doing so without loosing crowns or CE.

Oh, I definitely would still play more than ME a day, but the entire playstyle begins to feel more restricted and all about the profit of a run; actually enjoying the run becomes a 2nd priority; such as doing t1. I like doing t1 runs just for fun, to help randoms and friends out, to just have a laugh or kick back and try and easy level. Without Ele.pass that's simply not even an option.
When you get to the point where doing something "for fun" isn't an option in a game, it kind of...well, cripples the fun section a lot.
(and yes, I'm not talking about the "craft every weapon just for fun" or "craft that 5* rare armour just for fun" i am talking about stuff like "doing snarb for fun" and such)
my friend does recipe runs and its not always at vana, i like to join him at times and i never mind going down because of the crown drops in 2nd stratum, so yea ppl do run t3 gates other than vana
