Lower FSC's payout

Currently, you get 7000ish crowns for 4 levels. Thats 1750 cr per level, which is the equivalent of running through several arenas straight. Vanaduke alone is worth 3K, making the payout of the 5 levels to come out to around 2K per level on average. This does not include any mats, and is a bit of a low estimate. FSC is essentially fighting a hoard of easiest enemies in the game, and that it just got nerfed doesn't help this.

Yes, this will make all the T3 players rage, but it will help the T1/2 players to become T3 players greatly, by reducing the price of CE while not making any new cr sinks.

An example is myself- When I have time, 2 FSC runs a day, I buy ce. I don't need it for anything, but I buy it just because the price is good, and I can sell it for a lot later, or craft stuff with it.

Another thing is that it forces players to play FSC if they want to make a profit. I die in FSC often, not because its hard, but because I just don't care anymore when I'm there. I've earned every token item from it, and don't need the tokens anymore. But I still play it often, just so I can get a ton of cr....

I know this probably won't get much support, but I think it would benefit the game... especially when I think back to how hard it seemed to get even 3.5K for 100 ce back in the day, as a T1 player.

(Keep in mind that I'd be losing out greatly from this)

EDIT: I just read the thread about the great new content that you're making, regarding the missions, and stuff like that.... this isn't exactly a weapon balance, but I'm sure that it'd fit the bill. And explain it too, don't just "SURPRISE! FSC NERFS!", tell people WHY you've done what you've done when they won't like it. It really does help, and you've been a lot better about that lately, OOO.

Royal jelly got so nerfed now jelies dont always drop anything. I guess we should expect the same thing on zombies.

I dont have numbers like you to show, but I must say now it's too much reward for nothing, zombies dont even try to kill you anymore.

Yes, but...

I do think that level payouts in Spiral Knights would benefit from a complete overhaul:

  • I'd like to see all strata at a given depth give roughly equal payouts (including arenas, graveyards, treasure vaults, and boss levels) so that I can play a variety of levels without compromising my income.
  • I'd like to see a reason (other than FSC) for players that can do so to run tier 3 levels instead of tier 2 levels, which (with the exception of boss areas) currently give almost identical payouts, despite a vast difference in difficulty.
  • And, in a perfect world, I'd like to see the crowns-per-energy payout ratio equalized EVERYWHERE, across all depths, tiers, and level types. Levels that are intended to be lucrative (due to depth, difficulty, or whatever) should let you make money faster, not give more crowns per energy spent. Currently with CE at 6k, FSC players have no trouble making a profit running on CE, but for tier 1 players it's totally impossible, effectively restricting them to mist-only play, which is unfair and discouraging to new players.

Lowering the payout of FSC, by itself, helps with the first part, but makes the second part even worse, since FSC is currently pretty much the only reason to do tier 3 at all.
