Why do I lag really badly normally but do not lag on full screen at all?

Hi,

So when I first started playing SK on this new computer, I started lagging every few seconds, to the point of unplayability, even when I was outside clockworks. I could be running in circles in front of the AH and it would lag. Reading around a bit, I found that some people have fixed lag problems by going full screen. Doing so, I was fairly surprised that if fixed all of the lag, as I would usually expect it to lag even more on full screen. Is there any reason behind this and is there any way to fix it so it doesn't lag normally? I really prefer playing on not full screen, as it lets me do stuff other than just SK, such as respond to emails or something while waiting for teammates, which full screen makes extremely inconvenient.

Thanks!

It could be the

It could be the resolution/video card/monitor acombination of both feeling more comfortable like that for a weird reason.

Or maybe because since you run fullscreen, the card doesnt have to draw all the stuff you have on the desktop.

I'm just throwing random ideas.

yah, just what he said, ist

yah, just what he said, ist about processing priorities. Fullscreen apps get more attention while desktop covered is left.

So is there any way to fix this or am I stuck playing full screen?

I've already tried not doing anything else, and it did no seem to make any difference. (although chrome was still open, since I play the game from kongregate, and closing the kongregate website closes SK as well)

Greetings,

Have you tried toggling the Verical Sync option under the Advanced Video Options? This option can sometimes fix stuttering gameplay that is typically seen on ATI chipsets running older drivers.
