Hi there fellow knights,
Since I just had some "fun", coming up with the marketplace (I didn't touch Drupal/PHP in ages - now I know again why) and had a "magnificent" thought (whatever that is suppose to mean with me). Here's my problem: I mainly play FSC, it's a greed thing (surprise!), but it usually takes a while to assemble a whole party. On some days, I have to wait a few hours till three friends/guildmates are ready to go. The only thing worse than waiting in haven is waiting on the terminal.
So here's the idea: Why not use the matchmaking technology of the market to produce a similar bulletin board for finding people that would join you in the clockworks. And here's the problem: How to do it?
It must be dead simple, otherwise no one would use it, but it must also convey enough information, so we end up with working pickup groups.
To put it short: Would you be interested in a PUG matchmaking system and if so, how would you like it to be designed so it suits your needs (go crazy with suggestions).
I think it would be like putting down which floors you wish to do. Say, 1 to 3 for T1 recipe dives. Or the fsc floors. To prevent abuse to floor jumping, matched parties would have to start from the beginning of a tier, or individually added to parties with the same goals.
To do this, it probably has to be an option to do first half of tier, or second half of a tier. Then use the lockdown waiting list if there are no open parties with the option you picked.
This would let similar minded people to do what they had set out for. But they could be trolled with people choosing wrong options.
