Should i get the Armor of the Fallen, Heavenly Iron Armor or Valkyrie Mail???
Armor of the Fallen, Heavenly Iron Armor or Valkyrie Mail?
Why do you ask? Are you looking for shadow armor? For what situation? Or are you just looking to use up that Seraphic Mail you have sitting around? Have you considered just not using it up? If none of these armors is compelling to you, then don't get them. You don't want to "throw good money after bad".
I Am Very Fond of the armour of the fallen since the ASI applies to all weapons, not just swords
The Curse Resistance is a relatively minor draw back unless you plan to be charging a Gran Faust or are running Darkfire vana (Tried that once, Every weapon and vial gets cursed while wearing full fallen armour for what had to have been a full minute)
Heavenly Iron Armour is Dead Sexy, the helmet not so much, if you where going for looks id make iron armour fallen helm (but thats just aesthetics, and may not be relevant not to mention its my opinion)
Have not exxperienced Valk myself, but Since damage bonuses do not stack past 100% for shadow defense and damage, id go full snarby, thats Very high damage bonus to everything throw in a barb thorn shield with a good shadow resist uv and you have maximum
I use Fallen all the time in firestorm when im running gunslinger, with the two trueshots i use my blitz can still one shot a trojan in all but a four man party
FSC = Firestorm Citadel, the only existing T3 boss stratum that you don't have to pay for. It's filled with Zombies and Trojans (and occasionally slimes and flamethrower gun puppies).
ASI = Attack Speed Increase.

It dosen't apply to bombs.
Valkyrie is better for pve, fallen is better for pvp. Most people just use volcanic for pve, so I made fallen. I'm making valkyrie soon though. Mix valkyrie with dragon scale mail. You get damage bonuses to both monsters that are weak to peircing.
The fallen set is half decent for FSC since it's got shadow protection and fire resist. It'll slow you down on trolljans though, since you get a damage vs fiend debuff.
That fiend debuff makes Fallen kind of suck in fiend-themed levels, and the curse vulnerability is a bit of a risk in graveyards. That kind of kills a bit of the set's usefulness.
On the flip side, Valkyrie's fire weakness makes it completely inappropriate for FSC, but the fiend buff makes it a good choice on fiend-themed levels, especially if you're not a pure swordie and the curse resistance occasionally comes in handy for graveyards.
One thing you can do is make a mixed set: one piece of Valk and one of Fallen. This leaves you neutral to fire and curse, cancels out the fiend buff/debuff, and leaves you with a blanket low ASI. This will serve you reasonably well in both fiend and undead levels.
Heavenly iron has a pretty harsh shock penalty, as if shock-themed fiend levels weren't painful enough. If you're primarily a sword user, Snarbolax will give you an equal buff vs Fiend and a higher buff vs Undead (and everything else) without any negatives.
It should also be noted that Heavenly Iron is only craftable at the sanctuary alchemy machine, so depending on how far along in the game you are you may not even have the opportunity to craft it yourself.
