Skolver vs Vog Cub [with UVs]

A month ago, I upgraded my Dusker Cap to Ash Tail Cap and got three UVs: freeze high, stun low, and piercing low. I was initially surprised and happy about this, but I was horrified the next day: I'd been dreaming about a full Vog Cub set for months, but I realized that my best bet with this particular Ash Tail Cap would be a Skolver Cap, if I didn't want to waste these UVs. However, Skolver is completely useless on Firestorm Citadel, which is the primary source for my income these days.

So what do you guys think? Should I upgrade this to a slightly more versatile Vog Cub Cap, or go with Skolver to maximize the potential of these UVs?

Note: I live in Asia and don't play a lot (all this homework and whatnot), so heating up another Wolver Cap would be a terrible ordeal for me.

FSC is your primary source of income?

FSC is your primary source of income? Meaning, you run it successfully in Ash Tail Cap? Then you're going to run it even better in Skolver Cap. Skolver offers a little more protection than Ash Tail, and twice the sword bonus. I don't see a problem. And in some sense, the damage bonus on Skolver is more valuable than the speed bonus on Vog Cub, because the latter amounts to one UV while the former amounts to somewhere between two and six UVs.

In other words: Although Vog Cub is better than Skolver for FSC, you apparently don't need armor that good, so get Skolver and be happy.

Well…

I technically don't run all of it successfully in Ash Tail; I can do the four depths before Vanaduke but I get owned quickly when I finally reach the throne room. When I take damage I take it hard, and I'm starting to feel like I need better protection.

If you're getting owned in

If you're getting owned in the throne room you definitely want fire and elemental/normal protection.

Put off upgrading it.

I'd recommend leaving it as is for now and working on a Vog Cub coat instead. If you're experienced with FSC, one piece of Vog makes it fairly easy to survive.

"Skolver is completely

"Skolver is completely useless on Firestorm Citadel"

This is a complete lie, slander and falsehood.

Damage is ALWAYS nice, I run FSC in full skolver and BTS, my voltedge does a bit over 400 on the first two swings and over 500 on the third, the charge is just under 800 damage and a bit over 200 per explosion (5 explosions). Yeah when you get hit the hit hurts, so dont get hit. Of course i lack a worthwile gun for vana, so once phase 2 and 3 start i tend to be religated to water throwing and slag guard clearing duties. But regardless, skolver is fine for FSC

but let's not kid ourselves

But let's not kid ourselves --- fire protection is really nice in FSC. If you're wearing full Vog Cub, then getting set on fire is a minor setback. If you're wearing full Skolver or Snarbolax, then getting set on fire is a disaster. And there is plenty of fire in the Vanaduke fight itself, which the original poster finds difficult.

Get a mixed Skolver/Vog Cub armor set. One piece with fire protection makes a big difference, and sword speed increase is nothing to scoff at.

FSC in the worst armor possible

I,ve done FSC in full Sinister skelly armor and once u get set on fire ur pretty much dead but as long as u avoid his attacks as well as the flames ur all good. Just make sure u are caring remedies im getting skolver for Rabid runs and Skolver has no weaknesses, besides u'll do tons of damage.

So as suggested, get a mixed

So as suggested, get a mixed skolver cap and vog coat. It works well for FSc and just about everywhere else. Also, if you don't use slow swords, skolver is better for general clockworks, so definetly take the cap. With the mix, you get med sword damage and attack speed boosts plus at least some fire resist, and both element and pierce defence.
