Uh so you can't get to sleep

Uh so you can't get to sleep then?

I have a little ball the spins all the time, and I just fix my eyes on it and wake up with it on my chest in the morning. Have you tried sleeping pills, maybe those would work as a final resort.

Hm....

SOLUTION.

It's not much, but best I can come up with.

You're probably restless, as in tired, but don't feel like sleeping. What I do when I'm like that is 1)Get Hyped 2)Then chill down.

SO. Play are game or take part in a similar activity that invokes such exhilaration and keep at it till you're hyped.

Then get off, laze around a bit then nod off to sleep.

One of the problems people have with associated sleep disorders is performing other actions in their bed other than sleeping. Things like reading, staying on the computer for long hours etc. all contribute to your subconscious making sleep more difficult to attain due to thinking you should be doing something else. If you are playing games or reading things online do it someplace other than your bed.

If you require aid in going to bed, increase your caloric consumption by going and doing exercise of some kind. If you usually do exercise daily and refrain then you'll have an excess of energy, so it's best to maintain your current schedule. Sometimes learning techniques from lucid dreaming can help you in the act of achieving sleep.

Ok, lemme clarify...

Do SOMETHING that gets you wide awake, like play a video game, watch an action movie, y'kno, get the blood pumping etc...

Then after a while of that, chill out. Read, or just stare at a wall or do some other boring, monotonous activity.

THEN sleep.

Stop trying to sleep. Do the

Stop trying to sleep. Do the opposite. Try to stay awake as long as you can. Try to stay awake forever. Put everything else out of your mind and make that be your only goal. You will fall asleep eventually. Set your alarm clock so you get up the same time everyday. Eventually, you'll get your sleep rhythm back.

@Repartee
I usually watch TV, but I don't really focus on that as I'm just trying to get myself tired.... and that's about it. I rarely read in my bed. I sometimes do use my phone to get on the forums but that only after I've already tried sleeping, out of boredom.

@Psycho
With my parents sleeping in the next room, I can't make much noise, and the only thing I can think about is rolling in my bed. :|

@Damastaa
But I don't want a headache too. : (

@Iamnoone
But..but.. what if I fall asleep in school.. And I do have my alarm clock set, yeah..

Your teachers will wake you

Your teachers will wake you up. They will help in the process. When you get home, do same. Then the next time you fall a sleep, hopefully early in the evening, you will sleep through the night making up for some of those lost hours.

Actually... you don't want to

Actually... you don't want to eat protein before bed, that's a bad idea.

I hope you don't try watching t.v. as you fall asleep and leave it on. Because any sort of light or noise keeps your brain active and you don't reach your REM cycle like you should.

Also, turn off your t.v. like 30 minutes before you sleep. Have you ever looked into a bright light then closed your eyes and it's still sort of bright like you just looked at the light? There is a word for this it's like imprint on your eyes that stays there for so long. That's what happens with t.v. if you just turn off the t.v. you take that out of your mind. That does include looking at a cell phone screen... :p

Finding time to exercise and using excess energy that you have before going to bed will help so much. I don't mean to get like... super personal here on you and feel free to NOT comment on this but uhh... fulfilling certain bodily desires either by yourself or with a partner will help with sleeping. It's just using up energy. So, you can find different ways to use up that energy without having to spend a lot of time exercising. You can take stairs instead of elevators, park further away from work and walk. There are many different things.

You shouldn't be eating within two or three hours before going to sleep. If you feel the need to eat some popcorn, piece of toast, something small and light is best. Something that isn't heavy on your stomach, like protein. All your protein should be ate at breakfast and lunch, dinner should be the lightest meal of the day.

It now comes down to training your body what time is bed time, you should find out how much sleep you need. When you wake up in the morning you should wake up a little bit before your alarm clock even goes off, that's how you know you got a good night of sleep. I need exactly 8 hours of sleep. If i get my eight hours I will wake up before my alarm clock. You can start at trying to sleep eight hours and gage if you need more or less than that by what time you wake up, before or after your alarm clock. :)

I know how it feels to have these sleeping problems in getting yourself to sleep. I'm like this way too. I get bored and I have to do something, but then doing something wakes my brain up again and there is no way i'm getting back to sleep. I have to train my body that it's time to go to bed and I'm going to bed. If I have to get up and do some crunches and some stretching or whatever I got to do to sleep... i do it. lol.

I've had a lot of this advice given to me from online friends as well. I've found much of it very helpful to me. It might take a couple of weeks for a pattern to start working in your body. :) I hope this helps.

When your in bed try to think about nothing at all. Just devoid your mind of anything that pops up in your brain. You should be asleep in less than 30 min.

I learned it in school.

Someday man, your head won't let you stay awake. It's gonna force you to sleep. If you force yourself to stay awake when you're forced to sleep then you're doomed. You don't have to worry about being doomed if you're not trying to stay awake.

@Naturer, Thats like playing The Game. You know how hard that game is? It's so hard that I lost it just now!

Methods: 1: Think about what

Methods:

1: Think about what you want to do tomorrow. All the thinking of things like that get me sleeping.
2: When you have to get up early, think about the time you want to get up at, and make that your main thought. Think about how it will be outside when you get up, about how the things you do after getting up. I don't know how, but that really, really seems to help me('cept when I get up earlier then needed. :P
3: Stab yourself XD

I had this dream where I was wide awake and it was really exhausting so I didn't feel like I slept but I was wide awake awake as soon as I woke up from the dream. It's like I was awake for a whole night and not tired.
