I'm thinking about getting either an Iron Slug or Valiance. It's mostly about performance, but I'm also concerned about vanity.
Is the Iron Slug like the Pummel Gun? I love the Pummel Gun because of its design and the way it fires.
How does Valiance compare to the Iron Slug, though?
Neither are desirable as a sidearm or as a full time gun for gunslingers, due to their damage being normal.
For swordsmens, elemental guns are preferred due to turrets and other stationary targets as one of the few things swords find it difficult to go up against. Elemental guns deal bonus damage to two turret types, puppies and howlitzers, and polyps are neutral.
Thats all assuming you want a gun to use against turrets. Other situations call for other weapons.
If you're going to have only one gun, it should be elemental, not normal damage. Start with any elemental alchemer and either work that up to 5* or get a Pulsar to turn into a Polaris.
I'm not sure, but I think that Iron Slug, like it's 3* version Magnus, renders you locked in place while you shoot. Valiance doesn't. Valiance is a much more reliable gun as well as more awesome looking. You can move while shooting it. You can shoot one more time than Iron Slug before having to "reload". The only things that Iron Slug have over Valiance is a better chance of knockback and better damage per shot, according to the wiki.
Ah thanks. I wish guns could have their visuals changed like armor and helmets, then I'd have Valiance look like Pummel Gun. Anyway, I'm not really going for a specific "class" with elemental guns. I'm mostly in it for the visuals.
Valiance
Iron slug is like the Pummel gun. Valiance is better since it does more damage per clip and a larger clip than the iron slug. Though the iron slug has faster bullet speed, the valiance has a slight knockback and it should be able to hit most of the things you encounter in the clockworks.
