I cant buy elevator passes here in the Philippines!!! >8(
No, I don't think that the elevator pass will have any impact on the energy price. It will slowly inflate because that's how things are anyway, but that's just it.
I've been playing since July, and the only things that did have a serious impact on energy prices (in cr) were promotion events which encouraged people to buy repeatedly ce with real money.
When you're a F2P player who's struggled to reach 5*, you just come to terms with reality.
You're not supposed to breeze through the game.
CE prices being higher is just another obstacle we're going to have to overcome. You need the patience of a dang saint to stay F2P, and I respect anyone who chooses to stay as such. Likewise, I respect anyone who chooses to contribute to the supply the P2P has.
I also noted the Ele pass had little to no impact on CE prices, while Pack sales dropped them greatly.

This. Also energy prices have been inflating for a long time, elevator passes have had a minimal effect if any at all.
and force them to remove elevator passes
I haven't laughed that hard in a while.
I think the ele passes are actually a great overall idea.
I mean, it does give the P2Ps a fair run for their money, but not an edge over F2Ps, without needing to just sit and buy CE packs all the time if they don't have time to farm the game, it lets them play freely as/when they feel like it w/o worrying about energy or mist reserves not being enough at the right times.
It's not punishment at all on F2Ps who've had it the same as always, they're at no loss or disadvantage since the Passes have had virtually zero effect on the CE market.
Anyone who buys CE will continue to buy CE, because buying CE is mitigating costs to craft, whereas Ele Passes are mitigating costs to play, they're still separate enough that it's not like people will suddenly stop buying CE just becasue they bought a Pass.
Think it's a nice way to make P2Ps feel like they're getting their money's worth, without having an serious impact on the F2Ps, and maintaining the CE market sales and prices as they are.
Although I'd agree with Whims, that F2P does take some serious patience to play, but Ele Passes have not done anything to make it harder, at the very least, so ultimately I think it's a no-lose situation.
Your summary is basically spot on. Since I got the original elevator pass, I haven't seen that it seriously effects CE prices. I've also found since I purchased the pass, because I can heat things faster, I actually have bought MORE CE than I did before the pass. Just a personal effect, but I think that this holds true for other people too. Thank you OOO for bringing the ELE pass back.
2011
Pre elevator pass- 5.5k-6.5k CE prices.
Post elevator pass- 6.9k-7.5k CE prices.
2012
Pre elevator pass- 6.5k average per 100 CE
Post elevator pass- ???
Also, as an F2Per, with some patience, and a brain, making CE is a snap. Yes I am F2Per, constantly looking for more efficient ways of making CE. As long as the CE prices stay under 100 per CE, I'm fine with it. And for those who buy CE, more power to them.
I'm not sure where the people who say the pass had no effect on the cost of CE are getting their information... Buy prices have already gone up 500 cr since the announcement yesterday, and I believe it's going to hit the 7000+ mark far sooner than if the passes weren't reinstated.
Short run: CE prices going to skyrocket. Reason: sudden surplus of Crown in the market, so CE sellers believe they could charge more.
Long run: CE prices would fall, low tier item prices would fall, increasing activities that involve 100 CE or less. e.g. more people will go challenge danger rooms, operate that Hyper Mega Particle Cannon at Jelly Farm or open chest rooms.
Rationale for long run prediction. In the end, CE sellers would find out even though there are surplus Crowns in the market, people are not investing as much into CE. Because people who bought the elevator pass now have 100 ME that they can use every day and these ME are better off to be invested into crafting to win big on UV items. As a result, CE sellers are better off to sell at a lower prices to aid these activities.
Investment advice. Invest into UV items if you are on buy side (of CE). If you are on sell side, keep CE prices low or risk invest into a bubble.
im a full 5* player with 100k+ crs and tons of CE. i have tons of different armosa and swords, most of em 5* :) havent paid a single cent, but i have been playing 7-8 months :)
do i haz your respect? :D
like slayyz said, as long as CE prices dont get TOO high, like 10k crs for 100, im fine :D
The new pass isn't something I'm probably gonna get

No. Prices have always risen and crashed. Always, always, always. You're just pointing out the natural rise, then picking something you don't like and blaming it on that. Prices are now currently just north of 6k, and we have perm ele passes. Umad?
Prices have also breached 7~8k *many* times before now, long before there was ever mention of ele passes, so the continual price fluctuations is only proving that the passes have done nothing to change the CE market, for better or worse.
Basically, you just said:
Pre-me waking up today: Dark, scary, rainy night!
Post-me waking up today: Bright(ish) sunny day.
If elevator passes come into AH with cost of crowns (other than CE), I wonder how many knights will rush-buy it so badly...
@Wizeone, I live in the Philippines too.
