Bring back the event items to sell as packages for a limited time, you'd be making alot of money easily doing that. Just a simple suggestion.
PS: No I am not doing this to screw up the overall value of items in game, I'm doing this so others whom never had a chance to get them or joined too late will have a chance to get them, and well since they're binded that means you cannot trade them, right? Exactly.
Just what's the point of paying for something thats supposed to be limited and rare only to see it reapear a few months later.
I'd feel ripped off. A scam to take my money if you want to be dramatic.
I agree with all the above. These are limited edition items. That is what is so special about them. You could also buy them if you want and you could also purchase bomb head masks which are like limited edition items (i.e. Not many people wear them) - but of course bomb head masks are less rare than limited edition items. There are many events which have limited edition items and you may prefer one of the items coming out in the future than the items which have come out in the past. Remember this - Bomb head masks and limited edition items are not the only costumes - you can also wear armour and helms as costumes.
Event items and/or limited-time-offer items are a good way to show how long you've been playing. Lots of online games have released promotional items like the ones you'll find in Spiral Knights; it's not uncommon at all to do that. However, since the items really don't serve a purpose other than looking pretty, there isn't any truly important reason for them to ever be released again. This might shatter your hopes and dreams of a Spookat Mask or similar, but what you're asking for roughly equates to saying, "Hey, those guys that graduated five years before we did had costumes that were much cooler, so we should get their costumes too."
The dev team doesn't hate you. It's probable, though, that they're not going to take away status symbols for players that have been around longer than you have, either (or whomever, if this doesn't happen to apply to you).
As far as I can tell, the Santie Hats for the Winterfest event are all going to go away forever-and-ever after they expire. This was probably a wise idea, as it will prevent repeats of this thread from popping up and hopefully serve to underline the fact that they're just for decoration, anyway.
