I currently have vog cub coat and skolver cap and have realised,
I use more guns than swords.
Would it be worth getting a gunslinger armour?

But since guns are so weak, shouldn't you be getting the Shadowsun (or whatever the one with the dmg bonus is) + the trinkets for max dmg?
Eeeh, not really. See, guns actually need the ASI as well. It increases your DPS dramatically and allows you not to be a sitting duck with the heavier guns that actually try to deal high damage. Besides, Shadowsun's bonuses probably wouldn't necessarily make your guns on par with swords even then... I wouldn't honestly know for fact though.
You'd probably be more of a slow moving, sniper gunner with it all.. i guess. xD
I assume you'll want the fire resist of the vog coat so switch the Skolver cap with a Justifier Hat and you'll be good to go.
I spent most of tier 2 as a Gunslinger and most of tier 1 as a Swordsman. Now, in tier 3 I use a hybrid of both.
By far the most loved piece of equipment I have is my +dam med trinket for guns. It is unbelievably useful and makes Guns viable and more comparable to the damage of swords. I do have full Nameless, but I have been mainly using Skolver and Snarby armor. Occasionally I use my Nameless hat due to Elemental armor and it has Curse Resist high (Albeit the elemental armor is more commonly used :P ), but most of the time it isn't incredibly needed.
Get the Damage trinket, not the ASI. I have a few gunslinger friends, one of which wears the Divine Set. All of them have +dam trinkets
As far as the whole shadowsun argument Usaada is completely right, we need ASI too.
I plan on a set of Nameless with 2 Elite Trueshots for a nice base of ASI VH and Damage VH when I reach full 5*
We need ASI too, but damage bonus is better. ASI is by no means significant, but good. With that said, you will not see gunners purposely going into shadowsun, because of multiple things.
1. It only provides low damage as opposed to medium ASI
2. Negative status
3. Piercing, so one may be more interested in elemental
4. You can achieve very high damage bonus from trinkets, and simply achieve damage bonus medium vs. whatever UVs., as these come cheap.
And for the OP, gunslinger armour is very necessary, but not so much the hat and armor. In order to claim that "guns deal x damage and are x" You need to have at least 2 damage trinkets on, or you are some swordsman who thinks he can spam a polaris and call guns bad. (polaris isn't even a DPS weapon, its utility + gun puppies)
But if you use all guns, there is no reason not to get gunslinger armor.
Actually, some gunners are going to get shadowsun :
- the ultra rich, because with 2 damage trinkets + full shadowsun + swiftstrike + ASI high on all guns, you can reach ASI : Max and DMG : Max. It's the only way to do that that I know of.
- the poor or misinformed who cannot get DMG trinkets and prefer some DMG to ASI (for some guns, you're better off getting DMG : low than ASI : med)
But yeah, in most cases, DMG trinkets + ASI armor is better. The real problem is if you are not a full gunner : the lack of status on gunner armors may lead you to another armor. Especially Vog Cub/Volcanic demo for FSC because of fire resist.
"Vog Cub/Volcanic demo for FSC because of fire resist."
No. we would go arcane salamander. Extra elemental def, low slime and beast both of which exist in FSC and apply to guns.
And if you aren't a pure gunner then I guess you would go vog cub / volc demo
Volcanic plate is also nice though when coupled with nameless piece :3 stun and extra normal def
Most Lockdown Dedicated Gunners will be using Shadowsun because of Maximum Damage bonus and armor against stabby sticks
Also, as Recon, they already get ASI med.
Beyond Fausts, there really isn't anything that capitalizes on Shadowsun's weaknesses.
Unless you're a pure gunslinger, no, and even then it's iffy. One 5* piece is probably all you need unless you plan on only using guns for the rest of time, all the time, ever (like me)... and even then, you can get the same (if not better) effects from a trinket.
