Those are omegapods, which completely max out your maximum and current health. You cannot pick them up if your health is already max (20 cells).

i should assume that they fill up 3 bars?...just gessing, i really don't know.

No comes to me a single thing...using a vitapod as a single heal is quite dumb...and some people might aciddentally do it. So, instead of healing the one that get's it, if he is at max hp, it's simply unpickable if you're max hp, or make then heal a lot more if you're at max hp. Like, if you pass by one, and in max health, it can turn in 3 small health recovers (aka pokeballs).
