Well after playing countless games of lockdown, the concept of the game gets a little repetitive. So we need a new type of minigame, one that has even more emphasis on group teamwork. What I want to suggest is a PvE minigame that forces the players to depend on each other much more than just swarming in LD. This idea is based from a mini game in an other MMO.
The main object of the game would be to fend off and defeat waves of monsters, but unlike runs in the clockworks there will be different rolls the players can choose.
The game will start off with four plays who can choose one of three rolls:
1: Attackers: this class will have the strongest armor and a sword and a gun, their job is to directly fight the incoming monsters and protect the other players, also they are the only ones that can target and do direct damage to the monsters.
2: Healers: this class will have the weaker armor in terms of defense, perhaps some kind of robes. They will carry a wrench wand(yes like the gremlins have) and a pouch of some kind. Their job is to heal the other players by targeting them with a charge attack. But they can only heal so many times until the stone held in the wrench breaks. The pouch is for holding additional stones so they can keep on healing.
3: Mechanic: this class will have middle ranged armor in terms of defense, and they will carry the beast basher and a thwack hammer, the beast basher will be used to mine special rocks with can be picked up by the healers so they can keep everyone's health up. the thwack hammer will be used to repair turrets, like the ones in jelly farms, also they can knockback monsters but do no damage. Their other job is to collect an other stone that the monsters will drop(they will be carried one at a time like keys or water balls) and load them into a large cannon type thing which can be fired at monsters to do heavy damage.
The game play:
The monsters will come in three waves. The first one will be fairly easy, just normal monsters to fight that are t1 difficulty so they players can learn the mechanics of the game and how to work together. The second wave will have stronger monsters like those found in t2 and a mini boss; this is where the mayor team work will come in. A bigger monster will enter after good amount of normal monsters are defeated, it will have a shield up that is impervious to anything except the healers charge attacks which can break the shield. Once the shield is down, the mechanic will take aim at its weak point with the cannon and stun it. Then the attackers can safely approach the monster and do their damage, because if the monster is not stunned it will attack anyone who gets too close. After a short time it will get its shield back and the process is repeated, until it is slain. Then the final wave will approach, strong t3 monsters will appear and after a good amount are destroyed, the finial boss will show up, it will be very large and surrounded by smaller monsters that will still drop stones. The healer will have to work harder to break its shield, once the shield is down the mechanic will have to hit three different weak points to stun the boss, then the attackers will do their thing and do as much damage as possible before it regenerates the shield. This is again repeated until the boss is defeated.
But if a player dies the game is over and the team is rewarded on how far they got, with the highest reward received for completing the whole game.
Since there are four player and three classes, teams can be set up in different ways like: 2 attackers 1 healer 1 mechanic, or 1 attacker 2 healers 1 mechanic, etc etc.
Tell me what you guys think, and suggestions are always welcome, we need to make it something everyone can enjoy; and since armor and weapons are provided in the game, what armor and tier you are in in the main game will not matter, so anyone can play and potentially get good =D
Eh. Not a bad idea. But the mini boss killing technique is a bit to confusing. I mean, what if no one on your team is a healer of mechanic? Make it a bit more simple like you just have to hit a beast bell to stun a beast boss or throw an ember at a fiend boss to stun them or something. But mecha turrets are good ideas. We need more of those.
This would also be a good chance to bring back the green giant and possibly the tortodrone as the mini bosses. Well, maybe not the tortodrone.
