calibur's only real strength

calibur's only real strength is the charge attack. Other than that, it's pointless.

piercing, elemental, shadow

The other responders here are right. You want a piercing sword, an elemental sword, and a shadow sword. There is no particular need for a normal sword, such as Calibur, even with its powerful charge attack. For more detail, background, justification, etc., see for example my sword guide.

Piercing, as constructs are

Piercing, as constructs are generally easy and zombies are no longer dangerous. Fiends, however, still hurt.

doesn't matter much

"If I ahd to choose between elemental or peicing which would you suggest?"

In the grand scheme of things, it doesn't matter at all. Elemental is good against constructs and undead, while piercing is good against fiends and beasts. In greater detail, constructs are disproportionately common, which suggests elemental. On the other hand, as Demonicsothe pointed out, fiends are really nasty, which suggests piercing.

You already have an elemental sword (proto-Voltedge) and a piercing sword (proto-BTB), right? So maybe keep going with those. At some point pick up either Acheron or Gran Faust, to have a complete set of swords.

I would suggest having at

I would suggest having at least TWO different weapon types. You need some range to compensate for the swords.

If you're not getting weapon

If you're not getting weapon slots, Calibur and its normal damage will do the trick.
If you get like four weapon slots though, you should be carrying at least two
sources of specialized damage, likely swords. Flourishes are also really good at dispatching
greavers and generally, some of the other more aggressive enemies like devilities and a lot of gremlins.

two weapon slots

Even with just two weapon slots, you can carry two non-normal damage types, and deal huge damage to 4/6 of monsters and moderate damage to the other 2/6. In contrast, if you carry two normal weapons, then you deal moderate damage to 6/6 of monsters.
